Need those 4 players mentioned that KJ reportedly wants based on today's showing

When was the last time we signed a triallist?
Dayton I think.
Previously that guy in the Slade season, winger of some sort can't remember the name
Edit: Wikipedia to the rescue! Yohann Lasimant

Poor second half. There are going to be quite a few Maidenhead types of teams this year.

When we needed fresh legs second half we just had academy players and Sweeney and Papadopalis and it got harder, we need to get Three or Four in ASAP but I’m sure KJ has his irons in the fire. I don’t think you will see the best of KJs team for a few weeks into the season would settle for half way ten games in until players have settled into the shape and pattern Jackett wants, but there were encouraging signs in some areas.

Angol only ever scores pre-season. When the game really gets going he gets found out.
Spot on.
Let's see what happens when he plays in a better team and used as a striker and not a winger.

Don’t think kenny will be happy with a lot of that. Second half we were second best. Still desperate for a ball playing centre midfield player. I don’t want to be too hard on hector but he had some shockers back end of last season and was really poor today. I am worried that it’s all a bit much for him in terms of standard. He doesn’t have the time on the ball he thinks he will get. No fan of Clay but he has to start first game. Defence look an upgrade on last season especially when Thompson is back. Forwards, I haven’t seen the smiths/y play so can’t comment. Drinnan looks a hard worker but he has a lot of goals to replace and I am not convinced on the evidence of today. Ruel still running into blind alleys a lot. Missed Kemp. Mid table side at best next season on the basis of that.

Wilkinson, Johnson, and Angol all scored today….just the new club effect, maybe
IMO ,they are better goalscorers than the ones we've signed. I noticed Johnson scored twice today .
I only see one and that was a penalty, Quinn scored the second in a not strong Hull team who were also playing at Scunthorpe

Penalty to Orient after a foul on Sweeney (I think) in the box (pulled back when about to shoot)
Converted by Sotiriou

Perfectly summed up, I don't think Clay is the answer by any stretch but streets ahead of Kyprianou at present who seems to think he's still playing youth football where there's loads of time and minimal physical pressure when on the ball.
As per other posters defence looks decent, Ogie aside who shouldn't be anywhere near a starter with both Beccles and Thompson to come into the side.
Midfield and upfront looks very light on strength and depth, chequebook out in next 2 weeks if we want to compete near the top.

Disagree.
Think KJ will be happy with a lot of what he saw today, defensively Ogie showed why he’s still work in progress switching off for the goal but otherwise Vigs had bugger all to do. Pratley and Kyprianou look a good combination and yes Hector got caught a couple of times second half but KJ wants to pass and retain the ball and that’s what he did, we showed character to get the winner with a young side and I think overall we were good. You can’t expect any side to dominate for 90 minutes.

I think the difference will be, unlike last season it won't be 3-1, high scoring games, a 1-0 will be the order of the day, don't need to score so many, if not conceding at the rate of knots

No Beccles, Thompson, Smith, Kemp, Smyth, Clay or Cisse today so hard to draw conclusions. I'm sure that there will be further additions to the squad and there need to be based on today's performance.

Overall we were good? Not how I saw the game, far from it. Poor overall and especially so second half. Not too many positives against a NL team. Still, I enjoyed my day out and it stayed dry. Still, missing half our better players. And our new RB looks a massive upgrade.
If KJ is happy with that then he is easily pleased.

KJ saying "a couple out, one or two to come in" squad wise. Anyone care to make a guess at the outs? Cissé looks likely but who else?

So with four or five “starters” out today what exactly did you expect to see? It’s not like Maidenhead are mugs no team managed by Alan Devonshire ever are. We controlled the game first half less so second half once changes were made he’s learning a lot about the players , did we play sparkling football today no but re retained the ball comfortably until Ogie went to sleep and that actually gave Maidenhead a leg up.
KJ says he was happy, he knows exactly what he’s looking for.

If we finish mid table then that is no improvement on Ross.
Must admit, I am slightly disappointed with the slow recruitment.
He needs to get this right and we are still at least 4 players short.
Hector I think is overrated and may not make the grade.

Drinan picked up an injury today, Kemp, Smyth and Beckles will be back next week.

At the end of that video KJ says probably two out and two more in.

Which leaves us with a squad too thin for a shot at the top. Disappointing, get a top manager in and then don't give him enough funds for a full squad after wasting so much on Embleton.

Why don't you just wait and see what happens rather than make huge speculative leaps to very dubious conclusions.

At the end of the game the only senior players we had left on were Vigouroux, Happe, Pratley and James - the rest were all youngsters, I thought they did well to get the win out of that against an experienced side. Obviously we need the 6 seniors that were missing back, but in the circumstances I thought the youngsters did well.

Because that's boring and if everyone did that in football we'd have no football columns, pundits, forums or discussions
Same was said when we hired an out of depth coach as manager yet we had to waste a season to "wait and see" the bleedin obvious there. We've got a quality manager at last, give him the tools to get the success we all want.

Immediately before that he said "Two out today" (i.e. unavailable), so maybe that's what he meant, rather than shipping a couple out

I think the funds are there.
Jackett wouldn’t have touched the job otherwise.
