For some reason he has to obtain international clearance so will not be available for tomorrow’s gameRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:20 pm Yes , welcome to Orient Danny . I hope we get to see him play a part in tomorrow's night game. I have to say I'm happy with our transfer business so far during this window . I just think we could do with another LB if we're not going to play Sweeney at the moment . Brophy can then go back to LW. Surely we've got to put square pegs in to square holes to get the best out of the squad .

It's a polite way of saying that a Dundee FC official is pedalling his way to London with the paperwork right now.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:50 pmFrom Scotchland?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:46 pmFor some reason he has to obtain international clearance so will not be available for tomorrow’s gameRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:20 pm Yes , welcome to Orient Danny . I don't know about Harrold but I have a feeling Dennis could be going . I hope I'm wrong because I think Dennis is a good player .
Alfredo Morelos.Millennial Snowflake wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:49 pmHe wasn't ready for League football when he was 17/18 (at Boro/Hartlepool), that's hardly an indicator of his current level is what I'm saying. He was 21 when he last played in League 2 (Stevenage/Tranmere) - 21 is still very young for most footballers. I think he'll have developed a lot since then, so again I wouldn't take 2 short loan spells 5 years ago as strong evidence that he won't make it with us.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:38 pmHe never made it in the Football League despite many opportunities is my point. If that is using his youth against him then fine but you're telling me he was 21 so hardly a youth.Millennial Snowflake wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:33 pm
He was 21 when he last played in the Football League, seems to have matured a lot since then. Hilarious that you use his time as a kid against him as well.
As Angol and Wilkinson are clearly on first-choice wages, this is probably a good a signing as we could have hoped for. Strong record at a lower level and coming into his prime, clearly the club thinks that’s worth a gamble. We were never gonna break the bank and sign someone with an exceptional scoring record at this level.
He didn't make it in Scotland and Championship Dundee are delighted to let him go 5 months into the season.
Anyway he's here now so good luck to him. But why he got an 18 month contract is beyond my comprehension.
Who would you have liked us to sign?
Different FA, different country = international clearance required. Not difficult.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:03 pmYeah, that's bullshit.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:50 pmFrom Scotchland?moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:46 pm

What did you expect us to give him, 6 months? Or take it to part way through next season?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:38 pmHe never made it in the Football League despite many opportunities is my point. After Motherwell he went to Dundee in July 2019 and hasn't hit it off there. Most of his goals are at NL or below.
He's had various opportunities at Middlesboro, Cardiff, Hartlepools, Stevenage, Tranmere, Motherwell etc to break into League football and hasn't done so.

I know most people want to get out of scotchland but can’t see him going through that upheaval for just 4 months, if I’m honest.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:30 pm125 days.RedO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:47 pmWhat did you expect us to give him, 6 months? So you've never been to Dundee then.RedO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 10:57 pmI know most people want to get out of scotchland but can’t see him going through that upheaval for just 4 months, if I’m honest.
Well, like you I don't mind 'tap in merchants' one little bit. The only problem is, those type of players need a continuous feed... ?Kitch’s Magic Toes wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 6:27 pmBonne’s all-round game far eclipses Johnson’s. He’s a tap-in merchant. Not a problem if he’s as good at it as Carl Griffiths. We’ll see.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 5:39 pmI remember this player we signed a few years he was called Macauley Bonne had scored 8 goals in 78 appearancesKitch’s Magic Toes wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 5:20 pm
Did you take off all the goals he scored as a substitute, or are you massaging the “goals in starts” figures a tad? He’s a good enough Conference player. Perhaps he’ll do a job if we end up back there.
Johnson’s appearances for Dundee and Motherwell average him a goal every 3 games
Last time i looked neither of those teams play in the National League
And what do subs appearances have to do with scoring goals ?
Ps. He’s actually averaging 1-in-4 in Scotland.
