He’s playing up against 2 centre halves each week and has literally no support from midfield. To suggest he’s not putting the effort in is laughable.

Agreed on Angol. I have a friend with a season ticket at Shrewsbury who said he looked dynamite scoring about 5/6 in ten games in his first season. Quick, strong for his size and put a lot of effort in. His attitude changed after that and he barely scored again and effort dropped off a cliff.essexfootball wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 6:57 pm Sargeant - 6 - Played okay was nowhere for the goal but don't think it can be solely blamed on him
Turley - 7 - Looked a rock while on the pitch
Coulson - 5 -Looks slow and old and shouldn't playing at this level anymore
Happe - 6 - Did what he had to
Brophy - 5 - First 60 was my man of the match, next 30 on a death wish, gave away for the goal then nearly done it twice more
Marsh - 5 - Meh
Wright - 5 - Meh
Kyprianou - 6 - Mad a few mistakes but played well, good defensive coverage too, deserves to stay in for a period I think to see if he can grow
Wilkinson - 6 - Good to be back, some nice touches, some aerial threat, also not afraid to shoot, wants to score
JMD - 7 - Best player by miles, creative, nearly scored, everything went through him, teams will learn to make him
Angol - 2 - Anyone who rates him, need their head checked. He is utterly ineffective and useless, again today managed to redirect JMD shot at goal over the bar, he has had 4 good chances in the last few games, also looked pretty disinterested, needs dropping, waste of space currently
Subs
Judd - 6 - Played okay
Clay - 7 - Done well when he came on
Harrold - 5 - Hard to rate but him just being there as an actual target man makes a difference, the main striker for Orient needs to be a younger, better, Matt Harold
Clay a 7?Jman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 12:04 pm Here's the way I saw it:
Sergeant: 5- Stays on his line for the goal and it doesn't go in. Poor decision as the ball was bouncing, otherwise largely untroubled but not all that convincing when he was, spilling a shot in the second half into a dangerous area, we were fortunate they didn't have a man to pounce on it. I think he offers good cover as a number 2 but he's not the answer.
Turley: 6- Was having a good game until he was forced off. Hope the injury isn't serious.
Coulson: 7- For his first game back in a while I thought he was strong and sturdy, cleaned up when necessary and didn't mind doing any of the dirty work.
Happe: 6- Sound. Wasn't massively troubled.
Brophy: 6- Weird one to give because I was thought he was outstanding most of the game, offering a real threat from left back and then made one unbelievably bad decision to hold the ball far too long before taking a heavy touch, with no cover it led to the goal. Offered impetus as mentioned but final ball once again not really there.
Marsh: 6- Solid and tidy.
Wright: 5- Did very little to influence the game and I thought he struggled to keep up with the pace of it at times.
Kyprianou: 5- Couple of nice touches here and there but as someone said up thread, personally I felt he was out of his depth yesterday.
Maguire-Drew: 7- Good game. Can't remember a player that can blow so hot and cold, but he worked hard yesterday, tracking back to help Brophy out and those two combined often to absolutely roast their right back. Deliveries were excellent, we should have had Harrold on earlier to bury a few.
Wilkinson: 7- Edges a 7 for me because he was a threat all afternoon. We're a much better side with him in it, has such good feet for a taller lad.
Angol: 6- Extra mark for a pen but jogged around and rarely won a thing all afternoon. He wasn't so much feeding off scraps either because he should have scored first half and had numerous good balls swung into the box. Great pen under pressure, thought for a second he'd skied it.
Subs:
Judd: 6- Would have had no real warm up and came in at a crucial position and did well overall I thought.
Clay: 7- Good impact. Changed the game with impetus in his forward passing.
Harrold: 6- Needed him on earlier, offered the physical presence we were crying out for up top.
Overall, happiest I've been for a while with a performance, we were man to man better than them yesterday. I think with a couple of smart additions to flesh out the squad a bit, we should be aiming for a comfortable mid-table finish. We need to cut out some of the errors but there were definite signs of improvement, up the Os.
