You said in your opening line “ he’s learning fast”
If he goes back to a failed system then he is not.
@Byways1 .... Agree with you there.
Ross has a long way to go yet before he convinces me that he is a good LONG TERM choice to be the Os next manager.
We do not know the full story of what happened in the half time talk on Tuesday, I think there was more to it than Ross just having a miracle
10 minute miraculous transformation and thus changing into a fiery ''Ferguson'' like figure of a Football Manager !
This Sid was so predictable before the kick off.
When I heard the line up I stated on this board “this has got disaster written all over it and he will change to 4 4 2 for the second half when we are 2-O down”
He should have made the change after Macclesfield and the “unlucky draw” against a very weak Stevenage side would have been a resounding win.

Stop being an idiot.
He played 4 at the back and this could be 4 4 2 or 4 3 3 or even 4 2 4.
They don’t just stay in this formation.
The important thing is he plAyed a flat back four which everybody bought into and the result was a total turnaround.

According to orient hour it was 442 when defending and 433 when attacking

Formations often change during the game from attack and defence. 532 to 352 for example

Whatever formation it was second half, we should start with that on Saturday because it clearly worked for us.

Changing formation during a game whether (at half time or not) can put the opposition on the back foot and alter the balance of the match.

It can also put the opposing team on the front foot law of averages

As I wrote to @dOh Nut, after being 2-0 down at half time, little option left other than to change things around and go on the attack, nothing ''Genius'' about doing that, any football manager worth his salt would have done the same, regardless of what level of football it was. Now the clever manager is the one who is able to inspire his team week after week, show strong leadership and to have a few different ways of setting up the team according to what team you are playing and who you have at you disposal player wise. The court is still out as to if Ross has those qualities, if proven over around 3 months, then yes, he will have earned the job,

No: We should form a panel of the twelve most prolific boarders, they could use their footballing skills and nous to pick the team every week and decide on tactics. Faith should be the 13th man and tell us when to bring on " fresh legs ". A certain formula for success

I am 14th, but with all the aliases and bans, may just sneak into the top 12. Suspect I would end up being like Davis (Henry Fonda).

we see this fickle, reactive yo-yo-ing between extreme and polarised nonsense positions amongst fellow football fans all the time. After making democracy more direct and open to ordinary punters, it's hardly surprising we ended up with Johnson & Corbyn, is it?

It is surprising because hardly anyone voted for either. They were selected by their party members, and in Corbyn's case , £3 registered supporters.

In the case of Corbyns ''£3 registered supporters'' remember the the story of the ''Trojan Horse'' !

Yeah - when the only qualification for decision making is how engaged you are, this is the outcome. Asking people who care the most to be the ones to decide on the outcomes produces situations like this... "SACK HIM IMMEDIATELY" "GET BEHIND HIM, YOU TRAITOR" etc

How I yearn for the return of the bloodless, technocratic elite. I recant!

Judd for Ling was ok but Alabi instead of Harrold was a poor decision by Ross. Hopefully he’s learned something today.

Agreed, we have to accept Alabi is a waste of time. We had been playing some great stuff but that all went to pot with Alabi.

Bringing on Gorman didn’t help either. Clay had been superb, no way should he have been replaced. Wright and Gorman didn’t win a ball between them. Then to top it off Dale sticks a late one on Morris, wasting time arguing with the ref over it as he was rightly booked.

It’s difficult to blame Ross for the lack of squad depth but questions need to be asked if this new kid from Spurs is worse than Gorman.
