Has Ross earned the job
I’ve had my doubts, but the truth is Ross proved he is learning and fast. Tuesday was a masterful performance from our interim Head Coach changing things around and he can take full credit for a supreme result. Surprised the hell out of me.
I truly hope that following a couple more good results we finally ditch the interim tag the Board their trust in Ross and give him the gig.
Well done Ross.

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Is Ross definitely in the running for the Job Doh '
He may feel he only wants it untill the club are in a position to really move on.
I quite like the bloke so if he wants it & gets it id be happy enough.
Interim could suggest it was only ever meant to be untill the " Right Man"
Was available, whoever that might be

I’ll go along with that. It’s looking promising but you can’t make an informed judgement until 10 or more games.

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Just as some people on other threads have called for his head after one or two games, which is ridiculous, so it is equally ridiculous to say that because we win a game from a losing position he becomes permanent head coach
Nothing will ( or should) be decided either way until at least a dozen games

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Ross always needed to be given a fair crack at it before a decision could be made, but a fabulous result on Tuesday, which to me feels like we and he have arrived back in the EFL, after the emotion of the opening game and disappointing score-less results to follow.
Good luck to Ross, confidence should be high after Mansfield, let’s nail some more wins!

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Pretty much this. Why does everything have to be an immediate decision nowadays? Leave him be, give him a proper amount of time and then we'll see. Statistically, it's proven that chopping and changing managers is no more likely to bring success. As long as we're not in real danger of going back down, EmbletIN should probably get the full season.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 11:56 pm Just as some people on other threads have called for his head after one or two games, which is ridiculous, so it is equally ridiculous to say that because we win a game from a losing position he becomes permanent head coach

On what grounds, four games into the season and we are two points off the top? We have new players who need to establish themselves in the team.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:04 am

I agree with that but Tuesday night was very encouraging. As others have said, let’s see how we’re going after another few games.

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Exactly this. I would say give him about 10 games,15 would be getting on towards christmas. Some people go way over the top with things like this: ' screaming for his head' and all that. No one I'm sure, is in this thinking mode. Apart from anything else does Ross himself want the job on a permanent basis ? Anyway, well done to him for a brilliant result the other night. But let's not get too carried away.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 11:56 pm Just as some people on other threads have called for his head after one or two games, which is ridiculous, so it is equally ridiculous to say that because we win a game from a losing position he becomes permanent head coach

Re: Has Ross earned the job
It is all about time for Ross Embleton. If Orient get into the play off/promotion places soon and stay there into 2020, he will have earned the job and more. Staying clear of the bottom two (or potentially bottom) will keep him in charge until the end of the season.
I did think that if they had lost to Mansfield (which looked likely after 30 minutes) that he would have been under pressure to get something out of the Crawley and Salford games, whereas now that has eased considerably.
He will continue to be interim head coach into 2020 barring disasters.

We should not forget that it is a management TEAM and I am sure that Webb and MacAnuff were part of the decision-making process half time at Mansfield

Re: Has Ross earned the job
Not yet but the enforced formation change at 2-0 down may have increased his chances of getting it. Had we lost that game by the odd goal, especially a "soft" penalty he would likely have stuck with the 3-5-2 and resulting lack of goals.
What we have done is answer some of the squad issues ahead of the transfer window. Wide man and CM now brought in, hopefully the latter turns out to be the type of player we need there. In an ideal world would like another out and out striker but realistically it'll be Dennis covering two attacking roles (wide and upfront) with Alabi in a fringe role.

Re: Has Ross earned the job
I’m with you on that one Ron. 10 to 12 games should give a clearer picture and allow the club to take stock and then act accordingly.

Re: Has Ross earned the job
You've got to give it at least 10 games to get a clear picture, league wise, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss is pretty good going really results wise
