RW is an employee of the club and ultimately it is up to the owners / Directors who is employed at the club
If the club value RW to the degree they should, they should get RW approval or risk putting his nose out of joint.
The whole McMhon inclusion into the club smells extremely fishy.
RW is just an employee of the club and can be replaced. He does not own the club and he is merely one of many employees

Yes, it is helpful that the manager is in agreement with a choice of employee working under him, but as in many businesses you have people working under you that you do not agree with and have to accept it because your boss insists on him.

The club is far bigger and far more than any one employee, no matter how good a manager you think they are.

The club existed before RW and will exist after RW.

PS Do not consrrue this as me having a go at RW or suggesting he is not doing a good job. It is nothing of the sort, it is about the role of an employee compared to the owner / directors.

If Travis & Teague decided to withdraw Leyton Orient from the EFL and to close the club down, that is their perogative as the owners as they can choose to do that [ No suggesting they would destro their asset/ investment, but if they wanted to no one could stop them, not RW, not any other employee nor any supporter

The owners always have the ultimate say

This is the first we officially heard about the appointment https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2023/ ... lham-u21s/ Dave first asks about him at 3:30.

It's pretty clear he was brought in without a clear agenda just because Martin has a really good relationship with him. They then had the idea of him taking the 5-6 players that didn't travel for training on a Friday and Saturday morning. Then the idea popped up about a set piece specialist (althought Richie says Roycey and someone else are also dealing with that).

It's really notable how upbeat Richie is during the interview, other than the 60 seconds he's talking about this appointment.

That's one way to spin it. The clip is as anodyne as it gets.

As soon as Dave says he's going to change subject, Richie's whole tone changes. Anyone watching the full interview can't help but notice the contrast.

As I've said elsewhere, our best form of the season came in October, just after he was appointed.

Are you attributing our loss of form to this appointment based on the body language of a manager giving a generic response to the appointment if a new coach after a jpt game against Fulham kids? Do we really think Wellens would have been forced into accepting this appointment ?

I've said elsewhere why I think we're struggling, and that's a lack of nous through the core of our team. I like all of Brynn, Cooper, Turns, Happe, El Miz and Brown but none of them are the wily old pros we need.

I've just dug out this interview after being asked for a link to it by someone the other day.

You're basically peddling a conspiracy theory and that is typically because the truth is unpaletable or too complicated for you.

But I've literally said in the post above what I believe our problem is?

I basically agree. I see the problem more with midfield than with our strikers.

Jobs for the boys gentlemen, the point is how many times have we scored from a corner or a set piece. We not the tallest team in the world so therefore they need to look outside the box maybe literally

The alternative explanation is that McMahon is such an accomplished “set-piece coach” that we simply could not pass on the opportunity to offer him a role as he was available.

Which scenario do you think is most likely?

not much of a conspiracy really, is it? A couple of pals helping each other out. Seems quite mundane and plausible, in fact.

he cant be too bad a coach, he's had a few jobs and his name is often mentioned when we're hunting for a new manager.

2 title winners in 4 years
2018/9 & 2022/3 .
That's better than loads of efl clubs & PL clubs .
