I can see him making a decent career at L1 as a steady, solid, unexciting full back. Somewhat like Hunt on the other flank. I can't see him going on to be a L1/Championship midfielder like Hector.
Hector who? You can’t surely be serious that you prefer Kippers to Brown?
Phone up Peterboro, see if they'll do a swap. ;)

I would absolutely take Hector over Brown in midfield. But I'd take Brown as a right back.
Then there is no hope for you Sirrah!

Other than RW coaching Jordan Brown , WTF has any of the rest of what you wrote got to do with JB's Improvement ?
Simply put not having to rely on him to run the midfield, have you forgotten how bad it was prior to RW coming in?
What has any of that to do with Jordan Browns current good form ? Simple question asked 3 times & you still cant answer it. I assumed you werent a Half Wit G !! Starting to wonder now
How much of a wit were you thinking :D

I'll try your style...

A utility player is he
With flexibility that's key
And El Miz winning all the tackles

One is playing regularly in a top L1 sides midfield.

The other is unable to stake a place in a L2 sides midfield.

I like Brown. But let's not get carried away.

As a first choice CDM to dominate the midfield he still is. RW sussed the midfield straight away hence bringing in El Miz and Moncur to sort it out.

Coleman... good as gone
Young... same as Coleman
Brown... utility squad player
Kyprianou... thank you Posh x300,000

I'm going to buck the trend here. For me, Brown is a solid and reliable team player, much in the Craig Clay mould. I see little evidence of more although l'd love to be proven wrong. He lacks the control and speed of thought of El Mizouni, the strength of Pratley or the odd cutting pass that Clay provides. An honest soldier so far, perhaps there's more to come.

Not bucking the trend at all , most were complimentary . Others then started comparing him to Idriis for some Bizzare reason . :D Agree with you " a reliable team player ".

That's basically it, a solid enough utility squad player but not a midfield general like El Miz / Pratley or a creative one like Moncur.

He was brought in to do one role but has ended up being useful in a different one.

😂

Clay provides energy, that’s it. Lots and lots of it, but that’s his only attribute.

I don't think we have seen enough of him to know what he is - apart from very dependable - right now. You may well be right, as he's been plugging holes for us, but perhaps with maturity and playing him in his more natural position we might see a slightly different player. Regardless he's an asset.

I can see Hector going on to be a Championship midfielder (given he's a L1 midfielder at 21, that's hardly a massive stretch).

I can't see Jordan going on to be a Championship midfielder.

Is that clearer?

I think some of you are missing the point and I appreciate that everyone on here has his/her opinion but I think what you have to bear in mind is that he’s only 21. When Jacket was the manager he basically bypassed midfield completely because of his style,Wellens is totally different. Brown never had a really good run in the team, and the team confidence isn’t what it is now,and that’s apart of being a good coach, working with players on a one to one basis and improving them individualy. Wellens knows his players and I think Hunt is one of his favourites but he chose to put Brown in front of him Saturday. I think Brown can play in a few positions fullback, midfield or even centre back at a push. You can’t say that about many players. You have to look further down the line and see what he could achieve. IMO he’s far better than Hector. Yes he’s going to have bad games but he’s a young player and will be a bit more inconsistent at times, that’s what young players do unfortunately.🙈

As others have said here, Jordan is still young and may well prove to be a top class player, let's hope so. He has made one or two long surging runs which point to better things to come, more of that please and less of the head tennis when he has time to put his foot on the ball.
As for Clay not mking incisive passes, l think he hs done that regularly, a difficult play for a defensive midfielder. He did it last Saturday when Ali Smith side swiped it into his own net. Smith had to stretch for it because that pass was destined to arrive at an unmarked Ruel's right boot just 6-7 yards out. I'd say Clay's channel passes are better than Pratley's.

Brown's been a breath of fresh air the last few months. A reliable and technically accomplished footballer who is an essential part of the squad. Let's just see where he, and we, go from here.

Also worth remembering he's only 21, not played this many professional games consecutively before, so don't be surprised/up in arms when he's rested imminently.

The fact the whole team reacted so hysterically to Clay getting an assist tells you all you need to know.
