He wants to play 4-3-3 or 4-2 -3-1 depending on who is available.

He has to be the deep lying midfielder out of the 3, the role Hector was playing under Wellens. His job in offence is to collect the ball from the back 4 and link play.

It’s a crucial role when you want to play out from the back as Richie does.
I see Gary brushed right over you comment Chief

Yet he could possibly have the most important position in our team . Maybe we should sign another experienced midfielder before the transfer window closes .

Unless we've found a way to play without needing a CDM I don't see how this kid with no experience is the answer.

Enough CMs in number... only if you count kids with 0 experience
Enough CMs in quality... no

A senior pro CDM would really be a statement of intent, with one of Coleman / Brown heading out the other way (loan perhaps)

Moncur Pratley Clay
Coleman Brown Obieiro Tanga (Young out on loan)
Turner (maybe)

Big gap between the 3 starters and everything else

Reckon Brown could come good but it’s taking a chance and would prefer us to get another proven body in. I liked the look of Turner on Saturday but interesting to hear others’ opinions on last night.
