England’s contact tracers 'making handful of calls' a month

It was hailed as a “world-beating” service by prime minister Boris Johnson at its launch, but three months on and contract tracers hired to work on England’s test-and-trace system say they are making only a handful of calls every month and are occupying their time with barbecues and quizzes.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/ ... ls-a-month

Wonder what Messrs. Johnson :clown and Hancock :clown have to say about it?

I also wonder where the Millions have gone that have been spunked up the wall.......including to a close associate of Cummings  and Gove :clown?

Meanwhile, it appears that Local Authorities are having more success than this bent, incompetent Tory Government. Whoever would have guessed!

Not if they wear gloves and wash the shopping down before storing it away.

Blimey your making them do an awful lot of work to keep them free of virus.

Easier to lockdown the irresponsible young virus
spreaders & leave the older more responsible to social distance properly.

After all the young uns are going to need all there energy

£190 billion of debt that was created out of thin air. It didn’t exist, it was created, money is an illusion. Look up reserve fractional banking so as to understand.

I know we have various vaccines in development at the moment but what happens if none of them work. ? We can't have these lockdown measures forever otherwise we'll go bankrupt . Maybe the time is fast approaching where we all go back to normal . I think we're going to have to learn to live with this virus like we do the flu.

I would imagine that eventually we would develop herd immunity and build up some resistance. It would probably take a few years though.

@BBCNews 10pm 5th Aug bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod… said “On average, in the last week, 58 people have died everyday from coronavirus”. This is grossly misleading - PHE is reporting deaths of people who once tested positive. True number dying with Covid is perhaps 15-25 a day.

Good Guardian reporting theguardian.com/world/live/202…
on increasingly bizarre PHE daily death count, which includes any of the 250,000+ people who have tested positive and then died of any cause. DHSC allegedly suspended them pending an investigation on how they reach their number, still waiting on their findings.

So according to PHE we are on course for over a quarter of a million deaths i.e. Anyone who has ever contracted Covid. Including the infamous case of the bloke killed by a car while riding his motorbike and the cause of death on his death certificate was put down as Covid because he had previously had it.

The French government says it has recorded 2,288 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours which is up 684 cases from yesterday.

I'm quite sure that's not what the French government actually said - given that the past 24 hours would actually have been yesterday?

The absolute dire state of journalism these days!

Sadly 2 of my friends died they both only had about a week to live as at end of life, cancer and an aggressive dementia. They both got Covid and this was added to the figures.

I am aware that the counting in care homes was that if one patient in the home had Covid then all deaths were then classed as Covid. Considering the average life expectancy in care homes is 11 months, you expect to lose 10% per month.

If you look at the numbers only 4.5% did not have an underlying issue, but 40% have been obese.

Our figures have sadly because of our
systems been heavily overstated.

Just seen stats for my borough. About ten cases a week over the past couple of months and 1 death a week, sometimes none.
