Having looked at the results I will happily up that amount to £250. Choose any amount you like up to that.

Who is Tuffers? I don’t mind. I don’t cheat for sure. Let me know how we go about it.
Post your first guess. I'll reply with any yellows and greens, you'll see once we start.

Butt out, LSN.

As Admin inconsiderately posted a wordle score heres the post from a few days ago once again.

Here's the updated challenge:

I will post 25 games on a thread on the oh what rubbish forum along with an encrypted string of the games chosen. I will provide the key when all games are concluded to show that they were valid wordle games.

These games will be posted as the feedback of the first guess as if your starting word was ADIEU (X for black, O for Orange, G for green)

You will post your guesses identifying which game you are referring to in any order you like.

I will commit to checking and updating at least every 72 hours. You will commit to at least one answer every 72 hours until the game is complete. If there are circumstances that prevent this from happening it is expected a reasonable explanation will be given as soon as possible.

You have posted that you have scored a three or less 12 times in your last 25 games. For every score of three or less over 12 I will pay £25 to a charity of your choice, for every score of 4 or more above 13 you will pay £25 to a charity of my choice.

If you get exactly 12 at three or less we will both pay £50 to a charity of our choice.

If you get less than 8 in three or less you will post a screenshot of you posting a picture of your bare arse with the words "I am a big fat cheat" printed on it to your whatsapp wordle groups.

Mick McQuaid wrote: Tue Nov 28, 2023 9:41 am As Admin doesn't post his score daily it means having to look up and enter the games he's played into a list manually. If I can be arsed I'll do it and run his scores overnight.

It's not just computer says no though, it's computer saying I have rigorously calculated the minimum possible set of words you could have guessed from on each of your last 52 games and tested that a million times to show you are, beyond any possible doubt, regularly posting enhanced scores on here.

By the way. adieu is demonstrably a really bad starting word.
Have only just picked up on this thread. Must admit I've tended to either forget to play some days or forget to post up scores. I've also recently fallen into the habit of starting a game and then forgetting about it.

I've used Adieu / Audio as a starting word and can't say either did me any favours. I used to just use a random 5 letter word but after the last Tuffers inspired argument on here, I used CHEAT as a starting word and then re-arranged it into TEACH. I'm sure there's better starting words but I can't really be arsed to muck about with it.

Not really sure there's any skill to Wordle besides having a decent starting word. I had a couple of consecutive days where I had 2's but those were both due to having 4 letters in the starting guess. I tend to suffer from multiple possibilities (Candy, Dandy, Sandy, Handy) and usually pick everyone except the correct answer!

My stats which hopefully will help:

Played 636.

1 x 1 guess (no idea what it was though!).
29 x 2
155 x 3
226 x 4
152 x 5
52 x 6

21 x fails or didn't complete.

This challenge is going to be perhaps less participatory, but much more exciting, than even Bandoff Biscuit Edition.

Popcorn! A cannae wait.

Also - quite chuffed that I appear to be the "control" group - I knew all that effort would pay off.

I was rooting for the simulated version of you to beat the computer just once in a million times but sadly not to be. Fairly confident you'd get more than 1 in a hundred million.

For what it's worth I just find it a good way to see if I can make my code work, with perhaps some enjoyment from catching someone out. I cast no other aspersions on Express Bots character but it's conclusive.

I might see if I can calculate an exact figure using this method for the number of games it would take a computer to beat tuffers over 25 games. I hazard a guess that it would be quite a large number.

Edit - unfortunately I've just remember he used inspiration to choose his first guess so it won't work.

You're literally stealing from charity, LSN. You might as well have just kicked a poppy seller in the nuts and nicked his medals.

Not a great starting word, leaves 169 words on average.
