Ah yes. All those times Jeremy has referred to Africans as picanninies with watermelon smiles, or saying muslims wearing burkas look like post boxes, or laughing about the dead in Libya or so on and so forth.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 10:52 amSadly both major parties suffer from a lack of decent leadership. Look here https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/u ... -and-slurs. Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson shows himself as a racist, misogynistic, homophobic c*** time and time again. Yet it's ok cos he's got funny hair and went to Eton.

Re: Tory Watch
Here's Johnny!
"When you look back at British history, you cannot image Disraeli, Gladstone, Churchill or Thatcher, even in their most difficult period, saying ‘let us put parliament aside while I carry through this difficult policy’ … it is fundamentally unconstitutional … and to hear that argument come from the people who in the Brexit debate talked about parliamentary sovereignty being at stake, it is not just fundamentally distasteful, it is hypocrisy on a gold-plated standard.”
He added: “I don’t think that can possibly be allowed to stand. I don’t think the House of Commons will allow it to stand.
“I don’t think anybody who proposes that, or even let it flit through their mind for a second, has any understanding of what parliament is about, what sovereignty is about, what leadership is about, or what the UK is about and the sooner the House of Commons stamps on the idea absolutely, comprehensibly and forever, the better.”

Re: Tory Watch
When I here this "all his life" stuff it makes me smile. Always think back to Dr Harold Shipman. He spent "all his life" learning how heal people, to look after them, to take good care of them. Even took an Oath to do so. People spoke highly of his dedication. Yet behind this façade was a very different person.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 10:57 amDon't be a Stupidhead.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 10:52 amSadly both major parties suffer from a lack of decent leadership. There isn't a racist bone in JCs body. Ask yourself which one of the two has fought racism all of his political life and which one makes racist comments on a regular basis. Just often enough to give his racist supporters what they need to hear.
The point being that just to say "all his life" he has spoken against something don't mean that behind this public façade he couldn't be a very different person. its not about what people say, but what they do that matters and its on this latter point he comes up woefully short.
Boris just says stupid things sometimes.

With JC WYSIWYG.
With BJ it's hard to tell since he went in to hiding and on the odd occasion when he breaks cover he refuses to speak. Probably because he can't trust himself not to say something racist or profoundly stupid. I only wish you would take his lead.

The comparison to Harold Shipman is, quite possibly, the most ridiculous of dohnuts posts ever.

Re: Tory Watch
Wonderful to watch the deflection techniques of the Tory faithful on this thread. The old "hmm, we can't possibly defend Boris so let's attack Jezza instead technique" - that'll distract 'em!
To be fair, it's about the only valid option open to them given Boris's many, many failings (and no positives). Embarrassing.
The Shipman analogy is way, way out there. Kudos to Ankles for that one........

Re: Tory Watch
But the principle that what you see is NOT always what you get holds very true, irrespective of the example used. Its the principle that holds true, something I believed people would see.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:31 pm The comparison to Harold Shipman is, quite possibly, the most ridiculous of dohnuts posts ever.
Frankly its absurd to believe the "what you see is what you get" idea with politicians, or many people for that matter.
Trouble is that some just blindly follow without question, without really looking at what's happening rather than what's being said. The state of the Labour party is testament to the sorry state it is in regarding racism. But some of course choose to believe it a big conspiracy and there nothing wrong.
Anyway this is a Tory thread and there's plenty of sh*t happening there to discuss.

Agreed, this is a Tory thread but that didn't stop you throwing in your personal negative view of the Labour party did it?dOh Nut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:19 pmBut the principle that what you see is NOT always what you get holds very true, irrespective of the example used. Deflection from the much, much worse Tory failings once again. Getting desperate now.

Re: Tory Watch
Wrong again Ankles, if you're trying to get this thread back on topic i.e how well are the Tories/Boris doing, then why persist in mentioning Labour whenever you can. You're happy enough to point out Labours/Corbyns supposed failing so why don't you take some time to tell us about all of the Tories and Boris's good points (Hint - it won't take you long).dOh Nut wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:40 pmWrong culprit mate. Re: Tory Watch
Remember the days when we used to wind up the poster known as Roger Thornhill because he looked a bit like Harold Shipman? And because he used to do jazz hands goal celebrations? Definitely wasn’t a Tory though. I wonder what happened to Rog? His son was Joe Bloggs. Looks like JB’s signed up here but hasn’t posted.

You wouldn't recognise a valid point if it hit you in the face. Too blinkered. That's what makes me laugh. and Yup, I will carry on, thanks for the permission. But its not needed. PS. Latest YouGov poll puts the Tories 4th. For the thick gammons on the board, let me spell 4th for you - L-A-S-T.
They are now completely irrelevant and Super Boris ain’t going to make a blind bit of difference.

Dis the poll is in the Brexit party watch thread. Labour ain’t faring any better than the tories, and have lost more percentage points since the last poll by you gov. Think it makes them irrelevant as well.

He will make a difference. Whether he improves the party is another matter. The only good thing I can say about Boris is that he is only just better than Corbyn. That’s not saying much.Disoriented wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 8:35 pm Latest YouGov poll puts the Tories 4th. For the thick gammons on the board, let me spell 4th for you - L-A-S-T.

If we had a decent alternative to the big two they would be cashing in. It’s now all about choosing the best of a really bad bunch.
