Just signed up for the ticket for this one today, making the most of streaming while it lasts
Getting close to the finalised squad now barring a really dramatic end to pre-season, be interesting to see how we play with a proper RB in place at long last.
Heard King Kenny was after another 5 players before the start of the season; 4 now after signing Tom James.
Interesting, that'd make it 11 in for around 15 out, would give a bit of a healthier look to the squad
And we need them as well . I think our squad is still a bit too weak at the moment .

From 2018 Southampton loaned Barnes to Yeovil where he made 8 appearances with 0 goals
Southampton then loaned him to Eastleigh where he made 14 appearances and scored 2 goals.
On the 22nd February Oldham after a successful trial to the end of the season with 4 appearances and 0 goals.
Marcus Barnes 2 goals in 26 matches and that was playing in the National League.
Our club had previously stated we were only looking at players that had our level experience that could take us into League 1,surely we are not backtracking and going for unproven at our level which are cheap and cheerful ?
I agree , surely we can do much better .

Thats exactly what we're doing from where im standing. Drinan's scoring record is appalling, yet we pay a fee for him, and Barnes's scoring record is also appalling in lower leagues, and yet we're obviously considering him.
We brought lots of new investment in a few months back, why cant we bring in proven league 1 players ( like Pratley but younger)

I think we’re missing Paul Smyth
We look a bit static up front

I think it's a bit of a different atmosphere under gallen and jackett, think it's playtime over after last year for the players, in a good way
Every instruction is pass and pass, Wilkinson no way would've fit into this or Angol

With the lack of commentary you get to hear the instructions being barked out from the touchline. Jackett and presumably Gallen take no prisoners with what they want that's for sure
Sadly for Barnes his trial ends prematurely with what looks a fairly nasty injury, hobbled off supported by physios
Who's replaced him from the bench?
The other triallist Josh Clarke
First half takeaways...
- Drinan holding the ball up well, no support around him though
- Sotiriou posing no threat at all, we need a proven goalscorer to partner our big lumps imo
- Pratley looks excellent in CM, Kyprianou and Young less so, again not convinced by the midfield aside from the one we've brought in
The shouts from the touchlines suggest they want the team to play a much quicker tempo than the dirge we watched last season.
"Early and simple" the last shout coming from the sideline

Absolutely, that's why the players who McAnuff called out at the end of the season aren't here now, we'll be a team this year not a group of individuals.

Defence looks much more assured than last season. More service needed into the box - we're not providing much threat final third.

That was hard watching aside from the goal so far. Positives at the mo. Like the look of James the right back. Night and day over Ling. Happe looks fit and focused. Great to have a captain who doesn’t stop talking and clearly played at higher levels. Erm. Struggling otherwise. Drinnan may be one of those players that managers like but fans don’t see it. I don’t see it. Hector really needs to do everything a fraction of a second quicker. Needs to push on this season.

Agreed, we are missing Smyth and his trickery

We look very solid and my impression watching the games and listening to Galen on the sidelines is that this has been our priority . Little creativity from open play but we would get more of that from Kemp and Smyth. Galen has been relentless with his orders to pass, keep it simple and do it quicker, and we have retained the ball well, would like to see Ruel pushed up alongside Drinan who has held it up well.
OK first half.

It's concerning he's the only player we have with any form of pace or skill driving forward. If he's mainly a winger our forward line appears to have two Heskey types (nowt wrong with that if we're playing direct as a primary tactic) but no Owens.
I don't get the Kyprianou hype, always seems to get caught on the ball. Not convinced about him playing a starting role, would much rather another CM be coming in.
No Cissé on the bench again, makes me think he's on his way and club is trying to sort out a move for him. To not play a minute of pre-season so far seems very odd?

Don't think there is a place for cisse, pratley will play in that role Infront of the back four, think hector will play and leaves a third space and jackett seems to want pressing and legs

Wilkinson, Johnson, and Angol all scored today….just the new club effect, maybe

Angol only ever scores pre-season. When the game really gets going he gets found out.

Maidenhead look stronger than us now, good chance to go ahead there, header over the bar.
Stream is a mess now, other clubs really haven't got the hang of it compared to Orient TV offering

Nope, it's broken down badly this half. Very poor.

IMO ,they are better goalscorers than the ones we've signed. I noticed Johnson scored twice today

Penalty to Orient after a foul on Sweeney (I think) in the box (pulled back when about to shoot)
Converted by Sotiriou
