Sorry you must have missed the bit about people being total selfish ****s and not giving a toss about authority or each other (there are constant reminders of this though)
It’s quite simple that if the airports are closed to non freight transport and the planes are not going to Greece this summer that it wouldn’t have happened.
Hope I cleared that up for you
I repeat myy comments.
I missed the bit about people being selfish etc because it was no where in the post I replied to.
The government have not made it mandatory for young people to go to Greece and catch Covid, so its complete nonsense to claim the government have done it wilfully.
People have to take responsibility their actions. Just because something is lawful, it doesn't make it compulsory or even a good idea.
You think this whole Tory ****show with corona virus is just incompetence
OK
Not sure what planet you are on
Firstly you berate me for ignoring things you hadn't posted. Now you are suggesting I am making party political points ( re Tories)when I have never mentioned such things.
Thing you need to lay off the wine gums

If everyone had to do that how would they socially distance?
They'd only be 6 in the Stadium so plenty of space.

You have not said a a anything useful or helpful to a genuine issue. Why are you bothering to respond with garbage comments?
There are people out there who would like to buy a season ticket , a big outlay who do not want to waste their hard earned cash. If there is no prospect of any fans being permitted in they would like to know.

Don’t worry covid is really clever. It knows that it’s ok go to go to school, work, on public transport, in supermarkets, in team sports. It can count and it knows when to infect. It’s so clever.
School and work is essential. Meeting mates for a chat isn’t.
And therein lies the problem. Lockdown proved working in an office or in a school building wasn't necessary yet that's being pushed in spite of the recent "cases" scaremongering. This idea that people should be told to risk themselves for work but not for any form of leisure in their lives is a dangerous path to head down.

Dohnut of course it was a joke.
However, there is a serious side to it. For example friends of ours are a family of 6, 4 kids 2 adults. 1 of the kids is my godson who has a season ticket at the O’s and my understanding is this new rule is going to last at least 6 months, so by what Boris has said he can’t come to the o’s with my family of 4. So he will miss out.

Yep it's life with all the fun sucked out of it.
Your allowed to sit on the train with a complete bunch of strangers who couldn't give a toss about your health, to get us into the town centres to spend as the government has turned us into a total service industry. Yet your not allowed to meet up with another family or friends outside socially as they'll be more than 6 of you.
People are going to be going f*ck that for a game of soldiers shortly.
The old bill can't keep up with crime as it is so they'll have trouble finding the resource to do this properly.
How are they going to stop groups of family and friends accidentally bumping in to each other at shopping centres?
They won’t be able to recognise each other beneath the multiple layers of masks they will be forced to wear!

Government and its scientific advisors have encouraged the media to play up the fear factor and they have been so successful no one now is prepared to do anything in case it poses “ a risk”!

This is literally the exact opposite of what the government has done.

Excuse me but I dispute that. "Putting the fear of God" as you put it is perfectly reasonable when the threat is very real and people will die if they don't take precautions. I can only assume that you're being critical of this approach because you still believe covid is just like the flu......

No Bonio, but if you speak to people they are a lot of scared people out there. You do not need to be scared, you do not need to fear covid if you follow the guildlines and take all reasonable precautions, such as washing your hands, keeping a reasonable distance etc. If you read or watch the media it’s has at times sounded like an apocalypse was going on.

OK, I get what you're saying but I'd still dispute that the media has unnecessarily been putting the fear of God into people. This Pandemic is unparalleled in my lifetime. It is killing hundreds of thousands of people. It isn't showing any signs of going away and now there is evidence of people getting infected for a second time. I'd hardly expect the media to "play it down".
With reference to "you do not need to be scared" if you follow guidelines, again I'd dispute that. Unless you lock yourself in your home and have no interaction with the outside World at all, you are at risk. Levels of risk can be influenced by compliance with precautions, but the risk is never zero. A fear of this disease is a perfectly normal and natural reaction in my opinion.
As for the reference to the apocalypse, it's not there yet but in some Countries it must seem pretty close.

Of course risk can never be zero, but at least minimise your risk as best you can. The death numbers are still over inflated, a friend was telling me on Thursday her nan passed away recently from cancer of the jaw which spread through her body. She never had covid and was wasn’t Ill in covid type ways just deteriorating due to the cancer spreading and ultimately she passed away. They put her death as covid, her mum went mad, but they wouldn’t change it. How often is this happening? It’s not right.
I also don’t get the fear factor, I really don’t. My head is wired positively and I always look at things half full rather than half empty. I can’t think negatively and I can’t walk around worrying about things and I always think if I worried about covid I’d be worried crossing the road in case I get run over. You have to live your life in full and when the time comes look back without regrets to how you lived your life. Everyday I try to be a good person, and try to make a difference. Life is to be enjoyed, get out there and enjoy it. Just wash your hands, keep your distance and stay safe. You will be ok.

Sorry, but the death numbers are not over inflated. There may be some cases wrongly reported but the numbers will be of no consequence. As for your "a friend was telling me..." anecdote, well, you've got previous here.
The fear of this disease is nothing to do with a positive or negative aspect. That's just total BS. You won't be safe if you wash your hands and keep your distance. You'll just be a bit safer than if you didn't do these things.

The fact remains bonio I only know off two people who have had this illness, TWO. My next door neighbours 21/22 year old daughter, but her sister never caught it off her nor her mum or dad. My detective mate caught it (so did most of his watch as well, but I don't know them) and that’s it. So I do beleive if you follow the guildlines you stand a better than average chance of not catching this illness. Also it helps if your Immune system is not compromised either.

I'm a little bored today, so I'll respond. Firstly, the "how many people do you know have had it" point. How is this in any way relevant? It's an old chestnut argument to try and demonstrate that the virus isn't as prevalent as made out and it's BS. The facts (you seem to like peppering your comments with this word) are that around 42,000 people have died of Covid in the UK alone (this following the PHE numbers adjustment). Whether you knew any of these people has no bearing on the subject.
"Better than average" chance of not catching covid? So, slightly better than 50:50 then? You think that's something to be happy about, and that's only achieved if you follow all the safety guidelines? That's a long way from your earlier statement of follow the guidelines and you'll be OK. You seem confused. That's my lot with this discussion, you can only be so bored.....
