So, instead of a 500 quid voucher I can get 50% off a curry, nandos or pub grub on a Tuesday night (max 10 quid “saving”). And VAT’s reduced to 5% on “luxury” foods, a b&b booking or Thorpe Park. Thanks, Rishi.
I’m a bit more interested in the stamp duty holiday - I think it applies to homes over 500k too - as we’re about to put our gaff on the market and move on again. We’ve delayed that since Easter as it was pointless doing it in the lockdown period.

I thought it only applied for homes up to a value of £500K.
Will you be selling the moat and workers cottages too?

So if you're buying a property under the new £500,000 threshold you pay nothing in stamp duty. If you buy a property over this amount, just take £15,000 off what you would have paid before this announcement was made.

Does the VAT reduction apply to holidays?
