Morrison's deserves to be one tier higher, otherwise would largely agree.
Whole Foods offers excellent quality but the fact that it's outrageously expensive and frequented by so many utter cunts is a turn-off

Glad Lidl is getting the respect it should on here - Top mid-tier cheap supermarket

Aldi is ‘better’ than Lidl in my experience.

Always found Morrisons as an Asda without the deals
They have a much smaller footprint in the SE too

Asda should be low tier.

That's a cracking league, however I think M&S barely qualifies as a supermarket nowadays. It's a decent foosball, but lacks a variety of products.
I'm inclined to agree actually.
I think I overly weighted for food quality and range and neglected other household essentials in my ranking
I agree I once bought four cans of M&S Lager thinking it would be nice. It wasn't.

This is correct and a FACT.
Just been into the Loch Fyne Ales brewery shop and was delighted to learn they are an Aldi approved supplier.
Thereafter, I proceeded in a Northerly direction to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar to consume sea animals. It was very nice but they are right dear bastards.

I like Morrisons and would rate them higher than Tescos , just wish there was one nearer to me

Isn't there a Morrisons at Stratford?
Yes , i have to get the tube from Befnal green then walk , i use the Sainsbury's at Whitechapel also , in the Lidl v Aldi debate I prefer Lidl as they have cheap drinkable wine on offer most weeks

I bitterly disappointed you have come out in favour of Lidls over Aldi. I thought you were one of the better Boarders on here.

I like Aldi but their stores are not very near to where I live whereas I have three Lidl stores quite near. The nearest Aldi is at Debden but it is on an industrial estate and a fair walk from the station, there are another two at Newbury Park and Seven Kings. I use Lidl because their stores are more conveniently placed for me. As for which is best out of the two, I can not really find any difference, they both have their plusses and minuses. Lidl sell freshly baked croissants for 35p each, the Co-op round the corner from me sells them for 78p each, what a difference.

Yes agree Lidl and Aldi ''both have their plusses and minuses.'' but I cannot offhand think of any product that is sold at my local Aldi's that is better than Lidl's whereas Lidl has a few products better than Aldi, starting with the home Bakery ! Both do well with their range of Beer, wines and spirits. Just trying out a bottle of Bitter I purchased from Lidl last night, really nice.

Waitrose is a five minute walk from my house, any others are a car journey away
Pretty much get everything from there, spend a tenner and get a newspaper free.
Good saving given the Guardian is £2.20, probably the best store loyalty deal going

Aldi do an excellent pesto that is far superior to the one Lidl sells. Aldi's deluxe sour dough pizzas are better than Lidl.

In my experience, Lidl scores higher in the bakery section, the self service counters (even though they're so sensitive), and the Aisle of Surprise. However, Aldi is better on every other front and doesn't feel like you're shopping whilst on holiday in Turkey or some other 3rd world country.

Don't they all use the same suppliers for most stuff anyway?

Sainsburys is worth it if you're smart with their Nectar points. Every year we have between £200-£300 for Christmas, which helps to make a bit of a dent in the booze budget.
Their own brand and basics range stuff is also as good as most regular brands. But they do need to be deducted points for not always being fast enough at replenishing stock on the shelves.

Agree with the last bit, but it depends on how well the store is managed itself. The one I used at uni was great, but my local one down here is horrific for stuff missing from shelves for days

Depends what you like to buy as to which you think is best. For my usage, I prefer Lidl products, you pay your money and take your choice. As to the people who shop in there, I suppose it depends on where the shop is located, for me where I live, much the same sort of people go in both Lidl and Aldi, depends on what part of the country you live in.

It's all relative I suppose.
