I didn't realise T+T were Italian. They're much bigger clubs than us and had the advantage of not being run into the ground by mad italians.

They were not bigger clubs than us when we were playing each other. Brighton didnt have a proper ground for years, and bournemouth had a transfer embargo on them for a long timePrestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 4:11 pm They're much bigger clubs than us and had the advantage of not being run into the ground by mad italians.
i didnt realise Bournemouth ad such low attendances actually. Still, you cant be unhappy just because they've had the fortune to go up the leagues and we havent.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 4:32 pmThey were not bigger clubs than us when we were playing each other. Don't agree at all that the owners have no intention of us getting to the Championship. They just have a different timetable as you do.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 4:00 pmIt wasnt that long ago, that we were playing Bournemouth & Brighton on a regular basis in League 1 and in league 2, now theyre both in the Premier League.BigDaddyO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 12:06 pm Hi everyone,
I don't post on here too much but I regularly read this forum and I just wanted to say something: I have never seen such a pessimistic board in all my life.
Have people forgotten that just 3 years ago we were being run into the ground? No one attending the games really cared that we were being relegated to the non-league after 112 successive years of league football, our concerns were for the very existence of our club - and rightly so. I'm sure that all of you, like me, can remember exactly where you were when the news came through of the Travis & Teague takeover, and how much relief and joy we all felt.
Fast forward a few years and we have bounced back from the non-league in just 2 years - an amazing feat considering we barely had any players at the start of the 2018/19 season, and had two owners broadly inexperienced when it comes to owning a football club. Just look at some clubs comparable to Orient: Wrexham (currently 'enjoying' their 12th or 13th successive season in the conference), Chesterfield (staring down the barrel of the National League North), Hartlepool (mid-table national league fodder), and many others (York, Stockport, Notts County, Hereford, etc.). Nigel and Kent's plan was communicated clearly - we would return to the football league in a maximum of 5 years, we did it in 2. Not to mention that last season was fantastic - we finished as champions, won most of our games and enjoyed some truly memorable matches (0 - 2 away at Wrexham anyone?).
Now we find ourselves comfortably safe in League 2, with the 4th highest home attendance in the division - we are beginning to bring through some fine youth players after our academy was crippled a few years ago, and can start building for next season where we look likely to be top half and possibly threatening the play-offs.
Yet the majority of posts on here just complain angrily about Embleton playing someone slightly out of position, or how Ling never signs anyone good, or how the owners should sell up and go. These strike me as the kind of people who are never happy, who's only solace and joy in life is to complain and moan, who only think about what's immediately in front of them instead of the bigger picture.
Yes, Ross is unlikely to win the manager of the year award, sure Ling signs up a dud at about the same rate he finds someone decent, and I agree that it can be frustrating to see some of our best players played in strange positions or formations, but in the grand scheme of things the last couple of years should be celebrated and will surely go down in the history of the club as the beginning of our revival, not as some would have you believe, the Orient apocalypse.
That's all really, I just had to get that off my chest because objectively, we are a fantastic club, in a great position to push onward and upwards, and we have an awful lot to be happy and grateful for.
So when you see posts on here next week calling for Embleton and Ling's heads because we conceded a goal, or because someone had a poor game, I recommend you just ignore them, instead of feeding their childish rage by responding. Yes we have a right as paying supporters to complain when things are going badly (though I suspect many of the more criminal moaners on here don't actually attend games...), but things are not going badly, not right now, not by a long stretch.
Up The Os.
Only 5 years ago we were playing Brentford, in league 1, now they are 4th in the championship, & have the possibility of going up to the Premier League.
The op wants us all to be grateful for being a struggling league 2 side thats probably safe, because Bury were thrown out the league, and Stevenage are the worst league team for years
Our owners have no intention of ever getting us to the Premier League, or even The Championship.....they are happy to see us as a league 1 club.
Bournemouth and Brighton has ambition...something our owners lack
I wondered how long it would take for you to be on my case once again.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 8:58 pmDon't agree at all that the owners have no intention of us getting to the Championship. As far as our position this season goes, let's pretend that two clubs still are going down. Let's also pretend Macclesfield were financially run as well as Orient and therefore hadn't had a points deduction.
Orient would still be a massive 8 points clear of relegation with several teams inbetween. So your claim that we're probably safe because Bury were thrown out (as a result of not being as well run financially as Orient) and Stevenage are the worst league team for years is just totally untrue and a classic case of you spouting any nonsense to attempt to support your poorly thought out opinions.
See this is it - your posts are driven by emotion and anger rather than a thought out approach. If you think you're talking sense after your point has been so easily disproved then you're delluded. You might be entitled to an opinion, but facts always trump opinions. You don't seem to understand that though.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:20 pmI wondered how long it would take for you to be on my case once again.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 8:58 pmDon't agree at all that the owners have no intention of us getting to the Championship. If I don’t like how Embleton is managing the team then I’ll say so. The fact that the club nearly went bust a few years ago is irrelevant.
This idea that moaning about Leyton Orient on a Leyton Orient message board is unacceptable is, quite frankly, bizarre.
