I think after what happened at Northampton after getting promoted with Newport he might decide to do things differently and stay with us to build on what's been put in place over the past year and a bit. Here's hoping.

Silly thread. JE has absolutely no reason to leave the club.

Other than a mega pay packet that secures his future and that of his family. I'd call that a reason.

Tim Flowers has done a very good job, on a learning curve as a manager and I would guess that if he did move to another club, would prefer the club to be in and around the Midlands area.

Yes you only have to look at RS to see how that went :?
One massive advantage we have now is we don't have Beelzebub as our owner.

I would think with his many years in Football JE is probably financially secure by now

As I reported in the AGM post, Teague & Travis said "they cannot stop other clubs talking to JE if he wants to talk to them, but they want JE to stay and will do all that is possible to keep him if other clubs approach him".

There are bound to be other clubs sniffing around, but let's hope he sees one championship & promotion as the first step for the club and more to come with him at the helm.

Where else has he managed so far? Newport, gillingham, Northampton? We’re by far the biggest club with the most exposure he’s had to date. Stop fretting!

Plus he signed a new contract mid season, he lives I believe in Chelmsford so its an easy ride to work each day. Like he said when he took over I would not have applied for any other club at that level other than orient as it's a big club that shouldn't be there. Well hes got us out of the NL and he will get us out of league 2. Remember the owners know about key persons worth to a business and like they said they will do everything to keep him here.

All he needs is the reassurance of his budget and away we go again.

Justin said when he came here, "there is two promotions in this club," which takes us up to league 1, I think he knows his limit, both times in league 1 it didn't work out for him. He knows which side his bread is buttered on. He will stay at least another 2 years.

Also a serious point can be made for the quality of the backroom staff and as we move up higher I would expect upgrades to be made which actually might help him achieve more in future.

I'm not suggesting theres anything wrong with what we have as others are better placed to judge that than I. However, the coaches of league 1 sides are better than in the NL, similarly a coach in the PL is better than a coach in league 1, it's about levels and as long as JE is supported by the right staff in the roles he wants then why can't he go higher than league 1? This I think is a major plus of our owners running big businesses they know what it takes to succeed.

So fresh managerial legs are not needed?

I know full well it's part and parcel of supporting a lower league club but I'm getting really sick and tired of when we come by an excellent player or manager the vultures from higher up the football pyramid come circling around our heads.

Who’s circling? It’s just a few pants hitters on here going on about it!

I think he’ll stay, he’s seen what can happen when one jumps and it doesn’t work out, and as a new manager not delivering expectations the sack is never far away. Look at the likes of Harry Kewell and Paul Hurst this last season, there are numerous other examples too.

JE seems very happy at the O’s, he must look around him from the owners to ML and everyone else at the club and it must feel like a stable well-run club – and how good it feels to say that after FB! – and there is genuine optimism that we can progress further.

Good manager, don't get me wrong. I just couldn't resist the opportunity for a cheap gag.
