Hope we can hold on to him for another season. If he scores another 15 - 20 goals he'd be showing that last season wasn't just a one off a la Kelman. The asking price would easily double.

Seems a bit low to me. £5m should be the minimum. Did we get him on a free?Hoover Attack wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:39 am If a bid of £3-4m came in, we’d snap their hand off.
Dom has at least made it to the start of pre season training. Didn’t Ethan last year? I know he was gone in the first week, before the game v Brentwood (as was Brown).

Re: Ballard Bids
I just can't see it being that high from us, the three highest sales from a League One team apparently are Addemola Lookman for £11m, Will Grigg for £3.4m and Brayford for £2.3m.
I would say £6m is a fair price for a very good League One striker who is prolific but by the same standard of pricing he's had one season like that. Weimann had a season where he bagged 22 in 46 in the Championship and he was never consistently prolific, he averaged 9 a season in his other seasons with us which shows one season, especially a league below doesn't instantly make you a big price tag. Obviously age, potential and other factors are huge impactors and no team is going to give away a player but it all depends on who else is interested and willing to table a bid.
If 10 teams are interested but only 2 make bids and the best is for say £4m, then they simply can't get more than £4m and at that point have to make the decision to sell, gamble to see if he gets more offers before his contract runs out or possibly lose him on a free. I think our best hope is that they see our offer as "acceptable" and we hope that no-one else shows proper intent to buy so they're forced into a hard decision of accept less than they'd like to but enough to see it as bankable to invest.

Feck me they really are an Arrogant bunch !
Ok We will let his contract run down & let him go in 3 years with our consent !

Ivan Toney £6 million with sell-on from Peterborough to Brentford, says £5 million in the article but there's other ones saying £6 million. That's 2020 prices too so add a few million on top for inflationBandy Legs wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 6:01 pm I just can't see it being that high from us, the three highest sales from a League One team apparently are Addemola Lookman for £11m, Will Grigg for £3.4m and Brayford for £2.3m.

Re: Ballard Bids
The League One record transfer is Jay Stansfield's move from Fulham to Birmingham City in August 2024. The initial transfer fee was £15 million (around €17.8 million), with potential add-ons that could bring the total value of the deal to £20 milliongshaw wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 6:41 pm£10 to Birmingham in League 1 or have a missed something this summer lol?

Didn't Kone go for £5m last year and Kelman (who was strictly speaking a L1 player) was £3.5m

If Kone went for 7 mil, kelman for 3.5 mil, tolaj apparently for 5 mil, Ballard shouldn't go for any less than 8 mil. 3 more years left on his deal as well
