And for the youth loanees it makes no difference to them what happens to Orient, they're off at the end of the season regardless
Top of the JES wrote: Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:14 pm Have to say that our budget is killing us. Wycombe had Bakinson in midfield today he wasn't great but we tried to sign him in the summer and we could not compete with what Wycombe offered him. We desperately need an influx of money before January, send back two maybe three loanees and try and move on a couple of the squad in January and bring in Three or four players who can make a difference.

Shows how crap our scouting is they brought on Kone at half time eight goals this season and signed from the Essex Senior League. he looked way better than anything we have.
Need to address this one, are the board straight up lying to fans when they say it's a mid-table budget for League 1?

If they are telling porkies and running with a bottom 4 budget then relegation will be what they reap.

However if we've got a semi-decent budget we have to look at the recruitment issues that have been there since January and make changes further up as the performance has been really, really poor two windows on the trot.

I feel sorry for the season ticket holders, I think they were sucked in by Travis with the ‘you’ll be pleased’ with the signings over the next few weeks. The club made sure of receiving a tranche of money early to be spent where? All they’ve done is improve Hearn’s stadium.
Not really. I buy a season ticket as I want to support the club, rather than responding to some vague promises that might flick my entitlement switch.

Perhaps NT too was sucked in as to the quality of the signings?

Richie isn't the one who needs sacking . The clubs board are the people who should look at themselves in the mirror.
I never said we should sack him did I, but pointed out that even if the board wanted too it's not an option.

At the risk of sounding dumb, how would we know the budget of other clubs? Surely this is commercially sensitive information. I get we might find out afterwards when reporting is complete, but not beforehand. What am I missing?

And all this may be true, but I doubt that is the attitude Boreham Wood will have next week. We have to work harder, be better and show some resilience. Punch above our weight. Plenty of clubs have done it over the years.

We looked beaten from the 4th minute yesterday when we went behind. Could have played on until next Saturday and not scored.

No need, you look at last seasons budgets released for tax reasons & base your next budget on that. Look at the other 23 clubs last financial years & you can easily work it out. There really is some low level intelligence amongst football fans

Why ? This debacle is down to the clubs board for not backing him properly in the transfer market during the Summer . Going cheap with players like Perkins was never going to cut it .
Is it Nigels faul he is running out of Money?

And it also gets very boring blaming the players and the owners after every abject, miserable, and mostly scoreless performances. Time to start pointing the finger at the manager.

No but the fact remains we can't compete off the pitch . We definitely need new investment from somewhere or we'll start sliding backwards

So why say " The Board are to blame for not backing Ricky" if its not Nigels fault he's running out of Money then how can you say its his fault?
He's either not backing Ricky or lying about running out of Money. It can't be both.

Blaming Nigel for not being rich enough reflects badly on Orient fans & their rudeness towards 2 men who saved Orient from oblivion. I understand your point but kettle & Pot being black eh. Fair is fair, at least I've made a suggestion to Nigel on how to bring extra finance into Orient. This lot are caning him for not being rich enough.

It’s my belief that it’s Nigel’s fault for not doing his homework with foresight when we were promoted into League 1 in not realising that he would not have sufficient funds for the team to have sufficient budget to progress any further or possibly be relegated. That being the case Nigel should have looked for massive investors s soon as the club were assured points wise of promotion.
We need investors that will sufficiently fund the team for promotion in the very short term and a move to a new ground in the long term.

He's said after winning the National League title if we looked like getting to league 1 investment would be sought. If he's to blame for anything it's looking at the wrong type of financial backing

If that was the case he made a very poor attempt after winning the National League and couldn’t have got the expert advice in that field to make it happen,

Depends on whether he did or did not get the expert advice needed in that field, maybe he thought he could manage it thinking he had the necessary contacts.
