Kane has looked like a lower league no.9 and we all know, Southgate will continue with Kane up front for England, but Southgate needs to use Watkins to replace a very tired and unfit Kane, if his form continues.
Basically we need to fit Palmer in the starting 11!
End of the day, we know Southgate will prob start same 11 on Sunday
Palmer all day long. Saka offers very little in an England shirt. One trick player and all opposition defenders know what it is. Like many of these players. They look great in the prem surrounded by talented foreign players.

Of course not.
But assuming a kid who has zero caps (at a competitve level) is necessarily the answer is likely clutching at straws.

Maybe, the answer isn't trent or Gallagher though so you gotta put your faith in one of Wharton, mainoo or bellingham out of position though. What would you do?
As things stand, I would drop Bellingham back (alongside Rice), but effectively be ready to bring Mainoo on. However Bellingham must be only clinging on to his place as he's been poor overall really.
Then move Foden into the centre in the 10 role.

Even if we do win it (and for the record I don't think we will), they'll be falling over themselves mewling that we "didn't beat anyone pwoper", in order to downgrade the achievement immediately.
It must be a depressing existence for sure.

I think we need to give Southgate a lot of credit. He's having to navigate the tricky path of progressing through a tournament without generating a national feelgood factor that could benefit the Tories at the election. He's doing a bloody good job, if you ask me.

Found this an interesting read, from the BBC site, it's the views of Guillem Balague, a Spanish football journalist ………….
We are all in the Spanish media very disappointed. We built this England up because we like the people in it, because we like Southgate, because of the potential, because of the success with the clubs - we built them up as one of the candidates.
The reaction has been trying to find explanations. We go through the same kind of things the English press goes through, but conclusions are a little bit different.
For instance, there is talk of the use of 'names' instead of players that can do a role in the big Southgate idea - the reliance on names and some playing out of position.
Jude Bellingham doesn't do the role he does for England with Real Madrid, that's done by Toni Kroos. Bellingham is the guy that arrives into the box and is close to the forwards, he is not doing that with England.
Phil Foden and Bellingham are too similar, two number 10s, and they use more or less the same space and influence. And there is no wide players. We don't understand why Anthony Gordon came on so late?
Also, the fear, the pressure that is put on the England side by everyone - media, fans, everyone. It blows our mind how it quickly becomes toxic.

By no means am I a fan of Southgate, but I do feel that England showed enough in the last 10-15 minutes of the previous game to indicate that, with changes, England can improve by being more dynamic and end the toxicity. Will the changes be made, though?

You failed to mention what Cesc Fabregas said
"The English media is not that tough with the players," he added. "It is the opposite. In Spain, we are much more critical."

Yet another poo poo match with Southgate as Manager.Yet again more boring, negative football that is far from entertaining.
Southgate will not only drive fans away but will never win a major tournament for England both of which are not acceptable.
Southgate must go, along with whoever is responsible for giving him the job.
