annoys me they seem to give away a lot in trailers. Sort of show they shouldn't bother putting long trailers together for.

Getting my yearly month subscription in the xmas Radio Times this week ready for this.

I claimed a 6 month free trial via EE.

Currys usually give away 3 month trials with a lot of stuff too. Seen some trials via some smart tvs and streaming sticks too, keep a lookout on the menus.

Do they know it’s Xmas making of documentary on iplayer. Genuinely very interesting to see such a well known song being built and all the personalities and egos in one room.

Skeleton Crew. Absolutely top notch Star Wars, like it remembered it was supposed to be fun. Imagine Star Wars made by Amblin in the 80s, ET/Goonies/Flight Of The Navigator type feel to it, and Jude Law having the time of his life. Highly recommend.

Watched the first 20 mins of Boybands Forever on iPlayer last night, really good start (nice to see one of E17 interviewed in the Trades Hall) and, not entirely sure why, but pleasantly surprised by just how erudite Robbie Williams is. Looking forward to polishing that off in the next few days.

I thought the series was really interesting. And agree totally about Robbie Williams. The insight into how many of them were negatively effected by the experience made me grateful that I resisted the offers I received to be a teenage heartthrob all those ten or so years ago.

Finished The Jackal. Very satisfying.

Pretty eye opening series that 99% of them have been left traumatised by the experience

Thought it was OK. Some cracking humour but too many plot holes and suspended belief situations. 3/5.

I accept that virtually every series nowadays jumps between the past and present every few minutes. What can be confusing is that sometimes they put up a caption saying "10 years ago or 7 years ago" or whatever and at other times they jump back in time with no caption. You are often left thinking "are we in the present or the past now". You start looking for clues, checking hairstyles, clothes, age of cars etc. Sometimes it is so confusing that I just give up as I don't see why I should have to work so hard to understand what is going on

Yes. Being old has its difficulties.

Just finished Jackal's final episode. Great series and a good reimagining.

Barbie- quite funny and educational. 7/10

Ludwig- given up on it as quite formulaic. Like midsummer murders

I really hoped that I'd like this but it wasn't great. The Heroine's acting was abysmal, Redmayne was good, but the plot and dialogue were truly terrible. I finished the series out of pure doggedness. I really don't get the hype for this at all.

It got a lot of hype and that and the original dragged me in but like I said above Redmayne isn't a plausible baddie or actor for that matter.

Theres also a mention of Freddy "hang em high" Forsyth in the credits and it pains me to think a reactionary wankstain like him may be benefitting financially. But that's just me, always standing by to fight a culture war.

All about opinions I suppose, but Redmayne does absolutely nothing for me as an actor. A charismatic Jackal might have raised this up a few notches

I didn't work hard all my life and pay my taxes to then have to work hard to understand what is going on in all these mini-series (which admittedly I don't pay much to watch thanks to my man in Coatbridge who sorts that side of things out for me for £35 a year)

You do have something there. He wasn't very convincing was he. I think my earlier assessment was probably comparing him to the female MI6 agent who was awful.

Lee- woman takes some photos of the war. Thats it. Winslet at least gets them out a few times to liven things up. 6/10
