My strategy changed a few weeks ago and now I try to eliminate consonants rather than vowel. Struck lucky today, but missed the 2-er with a straight guess between 2.

Interesting theory, but he's a charlatan! Once you have a letter confirmed, you have to use it! You can't just go and put in another word without it to research another 5 letters.
