Was pretty vile when he said the Senegal national team were the same guys who hawk knock off tat on the beach in Spain. Not sure what that has to do with his religion but fell free to weaponise it I guess.

When a government gags any opposition to it, it's slipping down the fascist road, and this government is.
Moderate Tories seem to have disappeared, they are all ultra right wing, and imo, really horrible people.
They have no compassion in their hearts, and they live to make money and nothing else.
Lineker is a powerful voice on the left, so they are sh1t scared of him, and he's now been silenced.
I truly hate the right wing, and wish nothing but misery to them. They are in the process of destroying this country for their own good.

Lineker isn’t even really “left” as such.
I feel like part of why this has escalated so much is because nobody well placed who should be condemning the govt has properly done so, so there was a gamble that Lineker’s fairly mild tweet could be used as an example to help set a new normal. Fair play to everyone who stepped up. Though Chris Sutton did do, as is his wont, in a way that made himself look a right silly sausage

I still can’t get my head around what Lineker wants or what those backing him up think. The government, at great expense, is trying to stop thousands of mostly males, without any documentation coming into the country illegally on boats across the Channel with zero background checks. And this invokes feelings of 1930’s Germany. FLast year net legal migration was over 500,000. The highest ever. This government hands out visas like sweets yet they are nazis. Frankly, I think the liberal left have completely lost the plot.

I say:- When Boris took the Party over from May, he signalled that he was purging all the Moderates. He gave them a real rough time & most stood down when he called the General Election. Up popped a load of newbies in the Red Wall seats. Mostly they were thicko's of the " Hang em high brigade " The Tory Party is far from a Broad Church nowadays and is filled with bigots.

P.S Why are you mentioning 500,000 LEGAL MIGRATION ?

Turns out highlight packages without commentary or analysis is a bit soulless. Bonus was that I managed to stay awake for the whole of motd for the first time in about 2 years.
