FAILIAS!
Fantastic research Lester.
Justin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. Very strange decision tbh.
Good enough reason for you not to renew?Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:58 am Absolute arse fallen out of the clubs decision makers on this one. Either we haven't got the money or the will to bring in another striker or people genuinely think he is going to be better than last season.
If its the last one i'd like to see their workings.
If it means another striker isn't coming in I really worry for us next season.
Do you see him in training etc?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 amJustin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. Very strange decision tbh.
It seems playing against a bunch of part-timers was enough to get him off the list. So basically we have Angol and Wilkinson as our only real striking options... one injury and we're stuffed. Risky business.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 10:05 amDo you see him in training etc?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 amJustin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. Let’s wait and see
Remember Widdowson and Clay where according to some proper pants 2 seasons ago so now maybe it’s Alabi’s chance to turn that corner
Makes you wonder who was behind the original decision to bring him in. Yes, I know that everyone has to agree on it etc but there will have been one person trumpeting his name.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:58 am Absolute arse fallen out of the clubs decision makers on this one. Widdowson had a dodgy start but came good during 2017/18.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 10:05 amDo you see him in training etc?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 amJustin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. Already renewed im afraid Lucky. Looking forward to calling him crap to his face week after weekLucky7 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 10:02 amGood enough reason for you not to renew?Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:58 am Absolute arse fallen out of the clubs decision makers on this one. I hear Daggers are looking for new fans
It makes him look like a Ling signing all along.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 amJustin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. Very strange decision tbh.

JE never considered him after the first month.
I don't understand what more the club can do though. They put him on the transfer list, accepted offers for him but he wasn't interested in leaving. As he is under contract there is literally nothing Ling or Embleton can do. Seeing as we aren't run by a nutty regime anymore they have made the correct decision to let him back into the playing squad and not leave him wasted somewhere on Boco IslandApple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:58 am Absolute arse fallen out of the clubs decision makers on this one. Why does it end any hopes of a striker coming in and where does it say "It's just like a new signing"? Or is this your own biased bullshit?
Edinburgh thought he wasn't good enough for a bench where we could name 5 substitutes. With two more sub spaces in League Two they've clearly decided they'd risk playing him off the bench if the game sitution calls for it. Don't agree with that, but at least there's some logic in there.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:54 amJustin thought Alabi wasnt good enough for the National League, but Ross/Martin think hes good enough for League 2. I'm waiting for the interview to come out about Alabi's second chance... a bit of a running joke after so many wet themselves about him scoring against a bunch of part-timers.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:12 pmWhy does it end any hopes of a striker coming in and where does it say "It's just like a new signing"? Justin brought in another player and then put Harrold in as well to avoid playing Alabi even when there was space for him. This decision definitely doesn't follow "Justin's list"Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:18 pmEdinburgh thought he wasn't good enough for a bench where we could name 5 substitutes. I'd be more willing to listen to your paranoid nonsense about getting the 'chequebook' out if we hadn't already got the 'chequebook' out, twice.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:31 pmI'm waiting for the interview to come out about Alabi's second chance... a bit of a running joke after so many wet themselves about him scoring against a bunch of part-timers.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:12 pmWhy does it end any hopes of a striker coming in and where does it say "It's just like a new signing"? Still waiting on that chequebook coming out, Alabi being brought back into the fold suggests it's more likely we won't be making a signing now than it was yesterday imo.

The current regime feel that Alabi is a better option than one of those that Edinburgh brought in. That doesn't make them right or wrong - just they have a different plan. Harrold will likely remain on the bench.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:31 pmI'm waiting for the interview to come out about Alabi's second chance... a bit of a running joke after so many wet themselves about him scoring against a bunch of part-timers.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:12 pmWhy does it end any hopes of a striker coming in and where does it say "It's just like a new signing"?
