Is there a danger...
that in extreme circumstances, such as shortages in the shops up and down the country, that the indigenous population
starts the shift to the extreme right blaming others for the shortages. Over the last ninety years we have seen this a number
of times, ie: Nazi Germany, the break up of the Soviet Union with the Balkan States, (old Yugoslavia), Ruwanda, Myanmar,
(Burma). It is indeed quite worrying, but history has a habit of repeating itself.

Re: Is there a danger...
I wouldn't have thought so. People just need to be sensible in their shopping habits. Stop hoarding stuff, buy what you need and require and carry on as normal. Unfortunately too many people are being selfish and only thinking of themselves.
I spoke to an old boy yesterday and he told me he and his wife were shopping and this lady had enough fresh food (meat) to last at least a month and there was no way what she had put in her trolley could have ever been consumed before it went off. To cover it if she would have needed 4 freezers to hold it all. That is wrong and that's what needs to stop.

Re: Is there a danger...
I just had a look at Douglas Carswell's Twitter. The conspiracy theories were flying around on there. It's just flu/it's a bio-weapon/ it's the Chinese/it's the Jews.
Thankfully they're all fruitcakes, but some idiots will use it as an excuse.

Re: Is there a danger...
As for shortages in the shops we are continually told by the retailers that the warehouses are fully stocked and that there is no food shortages . The problem is people panic buying and supermarkets trying to keep pace . If people would only calm down and buy only what they needed there wouldn't be a problem. So if people want to blame anybody they should blame all the panic buyers . The other group of people who should get a lot of the blame are the rip off merchants .Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 12:41 pm that in extreme circumstances, such as shortages in the shops up and down the country, that the indigenous population

Yep, that's a ban. Let's try and be nicer to each other especially during these testing times.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:19 pmThe worst comment seen on here this week.Article_50 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:12 pm ComeOnYouOs, I've been on this board for some considerable time and have seen that all you ever post is rubbish, crap, nonsense, bullsh1t, sh1t and more rubbish. I've switched all my stocks & shares to the supermarkets, telecom, gun manufacturers, crossbow suppliers, hunting knickers, medical companies and vent makers ( the best laff is they don't even need to know how to make them) to make me a right good return.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:31 pmAs for shortages in the shops we are continually told by the retailers that the warehouses are fully stocked and that there is no food shortages . Not entirely convinced we are as well stocked as they like to tell us. Of course, they can’t exactly come out and say that we are running low because it would make things worse.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 8:31 pmAs for shortages in the shops we are continually told by the retailers that the warehouses are fully stocked and that there is no food shortages . The problem is a partly a lack of clear message from the government, and partly that people are selfish wankers.
However, there is a difference between hoarding and having enough food to last two weeks if you get ill or the government changes policy again tomorrow.

Re: Is there a danger...
We have a 48hr production to retail supply chain. If imports were to cease now, we'd be hitting any reserves by Tuesday.
