I doubted we’d get to see and hear this.
I can’t tell you how happy I am to be proved wrong. Welcome back, Jobi.

Excellent on the playing side today but speakers like a manager in his interview. Will go far, only question is whether it's in the coaching or media field.

Would love jobi to be manager. It’s like one of the kids in primary school managing the teacher at the moment.

I bloody love this guy. Him coming back to us after the Clown Years because he had a point to prove was one of the most heartening things I’ve seen in all my years as an O’s fan.
He’s intelligent, articulate, calm and conducts himself so well on and off the pitch. I couldn’t be there today but if I had been there’d have been a big lump in my throat when he came on.

Yeah, think everyone felt that way.Stowaway wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:17 pm I bloody love this guy. Him coming back to us after the Clown Years because he had a point to prove was one of the most heartening things I’ve seen in all my years as an O’s fan.

You left out ‘fit’ from that long list of attributes, by the way,

Don’t care. We wouldn’t have won the title last season without him. Fact.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:03 pm Gotta be the highest paid player per minute in the football league this season![]()

You really can’t stop yourself can you? You seem to get delight in pouring cold water over everything thing that is good about our club. Doubtless you will find something to aim your venom at with Kent’s very sincere interview and Rev Alan’s love for the club and football.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:03 pm Gotta be the highest paid player per minute in the football league this season![]()

Joyful to see him back but let’s face it - was it worth giving him a year’s playing contract?

Re: Jobi post match interview
Oh dear Disawumble trying hard to find a WUM and FAILING. Jobi is a Legend at Brisbane Road and his interview and performance today showed why. Some of the Dementor Boarders on here really are pathetic, Jobi has more than earned his money as a Coach, example to others and mentor this season and to have him back as a player is fantastic. Worth every penny. Disawumble 0/10 but still can't try any harder.

He will be a major part of the team next season, so yes, absolutely.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 8:39 am Joyful to see him back but let’s face it - was it worth giving him a year’s playing contract?

Re: Jobi post match interview
Emotions aside (and I agree he’s a ledge that pushed us over the line last season) and pure cold hard football business logic head on. Jobi is probably one of our top earners and he’s gonna end up playing in about 9 games all season. The PLAYING contract was a mistake, especially as it could have paid for a quality player or two extra. I can’t see how that could be debated but there you go.
Glad to have him back

Re: Jobi post match interview
The issue is more that his rehab was botched by the team that Ling brought in over the summer. See also: Turley, Dennis, and various other small knocks that have turned into longer absences.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 2:33 pm Emotions aside (and I agree he’s a ledge that pushed us over the line last season) and pure cold hard football business logic head on. It’s not just the fitness levels that’s been an issue this season, it also that we’ve had a lot more injuries and lengthy rehabs. Jobi should have been available a lot sooner.
Any road, I’d say the expense of keeping Jobi on the staff, for what he brings around the dressing room, is worth it in the short and long term (assuming he sticks around and does go on to take the real leadership role that we can all see he’s capable of). And much better value than the money we’ve spunked on Fletcher, paying off Webb, and on Ling himself.

Re: Jobi post match interview
From the reception he got leaving the pitch at Barnsley in December 14 to the ovation he got coming onto the pitch at Brisbane Road yesterday tells you everything. 100% credit to the man, I'm proud to have him as massive a part of the team I support
Re: Jobi post match interview
I'm sorry but I must be the only one who cannot understand the love for this bloke.
I like him and he was great last season. He knows how to play and has been a good player during his career.
He is not saviour some would like to make him into.
We don't know how good a coach he is, so why are some so quick to think he should be our manager. In fact he's been part of the coaching team this season which has been pretty poor.
