What surprised me was Embleton saying Wright asked why he was dropped so he was given an explanation of tiredness, then brings him back and he’s as poor as he’s been all season. Complete non entity again. I could have done better then him today. Embarrassing.

I've watched Wright since he was a kid at Charlton. He likes to sit deep and hit the occasional long Hollywood pass but mainly best good at keep ball. . He's never changed and is hardly ever going to worry an opponent.

As others have said, two poor sides in a poor game played in poor conditions. I thought the wind played a part in all four goals but I could be wrong.

Not many contenders for MOTM - pick any one of Brophy, Clay or Cissé. Good save from Big Vig at the end - I thought it was in.

I don’t like picking players out but how did Johnson stay on the pitch? I know he got the goal but seems to have the knack of always putting defenders between himself and the ball. Also seems to think he is a much quicker player than he really is.

On the plus side, didn’t realise Rowe was playing until I read the match report.

Oldham used Rowe in a completely different role than what he played at Fylde, at Fylde he was the focal point of their attacks in a front two - playing the ball into his feet and having him influence the game as the main man.

Oldham had him playing in the attacking number ten role behind the front striker today - Which I didn't think suited him, as mentioned - He barely seemed to influence the game like he did so many times against us playing for Fylde.

Another shout for Clay MOM here. Think he does a fair degree of unseen work, and gets through a lot of graft.
Brophy and Cisse were decent as well.
I'm actually quite concerned that RE can't see how awful Wright is at the moment. Needs dropping.

Why am I sensing that because Wright is friends with the Edinburgh family, he's being treated differently. I mean if any of the others played as badly as Josh has, they'd struggle to get on the subs bench.

Oldham used Rowe in a completely different role than what he played at Fylde, at Fylde he was the focal point of their attacks in a front two - playing the ball into his feet and having him influence the game as the main man.

Oldham had him playing in the attacking number ten role behind the front striker today - Which I didn't think suited him, as mentioned - He barely seemed to influence the game like he did so many times against us playing for Fylde.

If I remember correctly he has an absolute canon of a shot which he didn’t get a single chance to employ today.

Vigoroux - 6. Clearly an upgrade on sargeant although would like to see the 2nd goal again.
Marsh - 5. Got done by their winger a couple of times and then they bewilderingly switched his side whence he became utterly ineffective against Brophy.
Brophy - 6.5 - Quiet first half, better 2nd with some link up with JMD. Worryingly looks like our main threat.
Happe - 6.5 Steady enough.
Coulson - 5 fairly sure his man for both goals
JMD - 5 - some flashes but generally quiet
Cisse 7 - usual stuff with the odd misplaced pass. Simple and effective.
Clay - 7.5 (MOM). Best performance for some time but still based on him being less turd than those around him
Wright - 3. Ineffective in and out of possession. Frustratingly slows everything down to his pace (which is glacial). No tempo to his play, not sure what RE is seeing.
Johnson 4 - marked up from 3 for his 8 inch tap in. I’ll reserve judgement for the moment but perhaps there’s a reason he’s spent most of his career at lower level
Wilkinson 5 - V quiet. Suspect early tackle on him put him back in a box form which he never got out of.

Subs:

Sotiriou 7 - morons like ability to raise the crowd and the game.

Embleton - would love to know if there’s a plan B when 4-3-3 doesn’t work. Besides Johnson’s goal in the 2nd half, don’t remember us creating hardly anything. Oldham were there for the taking at 2-2 but we hardly stretched them after the equaliser.

The idea of Ling / Embleton taking us into next season is seriously p*ssing me off. I’d accept games like today if it felt like a blip during some progress but I honestly don’t see any.

Here is admin a man who actually watched the game. Fair comments and marks on all. I’m gonna add to Johnson on another post.

He can't play the wide forward role as he doesn't have the technical ability and doesn't have the physical presence to play up front on his own.

From the cameos so far and that 90 minutes yesterday, he looks an awful signing.

You should give up. Clay was our best player yesterday, a few people have called out your ratings & you keep on digging. Why have a pop at other fans just because they have a different opinion to yours.
You come across as very self righteous. Maybe you should show us your coaching badges & League winners medals to prove you're an expert.

Ross regularly references the fact he's our top scorer. For me, that's more a reflection on the poor return of our strikers rather than an irrefutable reason to have his name first on the team sheet.

I fear sentiment may be as much to do with it as anything else.
