Re: Russell Slade.........
He's on his way as a saviour of our club from the management shambles we currently have in place.

One win in the last fourteen, so he fits our managerial profile okay.redintheface wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:44 pmWe wouldn’t ...won’t stop some calling for it though, just watch!
Re: Russell Slade.........
Has he worked with Embleton, Webb and McAnuff before? I sense that he has.
I think his best days are behind him but if we were to get too close to the relegation zone I would rather get him in rather than soldier on with Ross to the end of the season. But then again if we got to that stage I would think almost any manager with some sort of track record of good escape acts with teams would be preferable.

Re: Russell Slade.........
Love to see Russell back, get him on a contract initially till end of season with RE as assistant.
Would revitalise us and get us out of the serious hole we are in.
C’mon T&T, make it happen.

Re: Russell Slade.........
Agree, his best managerial record is with us . He is one man that could settle us done after all the club haS been through. Very level headed man , great man manager and big on philosophy of the mind which we are begging for . Good with the youngsters and a real steadying influence , plus he knows the club and the culture ! End of season contract .

Re: Russell Slade.........
:lol Nostalgia time! Results from his last 4 Manager Gigs are as follows:
Charlton - Played 21 / Won 5 / Drew 10 / Lost 6
Coventry - P 16/ W 3 / D 5 / L8
Grimsby - P 43 / W 11 / D 12 / L 20
Hereford (To 4 /01/20.) - P 23 / W 5 / D 8 / L 10.
Those that want him back are living in the past. He "lost his touch" some time ago.

Re: Russell Slade.........
It's still a better record than Ross. And besides those clubs weren't in stable conditions when he was at them.koppio wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:08 pm :lol Nostalgia time! Results from his last 4 Manager Gigs are as follows:

Also you forgot to who include his 37% win rate at Cardiff which was also a barmy club at the time.
Bottom line is that Ross is a coach. Russell a manager. We could keep them both.

Re: Russell Slade.........
Appointing RS as manager would be a very sensible thing to do...………………. BUT the cretins running this club don't seem to have an ounce of common sense so it isn't going to happen

Re: Russell Slade.........
Love old baldy bonce as much as anyone but c'mon. Never go back. His success with us was less to do with Russ' methods, as evidenced by his abject failure everywhere he's been since, and more to do with one of those moments when everything came together. Also let's not forget Russ was always on the lookout for a better job whilst with us. Every manager wants to test themselves higher up but a certain discretion goes a long way and Russ lacked that.

Re: Russell Slade.........
No he appeals cos people liked him when he was here previously. He was very easy going, a good communicator with the fans, built an impressive team which was probably the best since Bloomfield’s team. The season we got to the play offs was probably the best season for football, for atmosphere, for entertainment I’ve seen down the O’s. That’s what people remember and that’s what people believe he could do again.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:02 pmThicko fans want him because they're against Ross Embletons sentimental appointment. It’s a shame it ended the way it did, but he would without doubt unite the fan base, the club and the players. He is fondly remembered.
We have Ross the boss now and I truly hope he can deliver us to safety and stability.
