Ross Embletons football philosophy
How will Ross's Orient be set up?
Play out from the back
Counterattack with pace
Solid, hard to beat
One /two touch football
Long ball
?
It'll be interesting to see which way he goes

Whack it down the middle. If that doesn't work then let the other side come on to us for seventy minutes or so and try and nick
it on a break away. Oh, hang on a minute.

He'll probably set us up to score less than the opposition as usual.

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
Ross’s appointment is certainly controversial but not altogether surprising given the connection with Ling etc
Most on here including myself aren’t in favour but the only positive that I can think of is that T and T will strengthen the squad in the January window to try and give their decision some credence.
A defeat at home on Saturday and the knives really will be out for Ross and Ling. A win will buy some time but it’s really vital that the squad is improved between now and the end of this month.

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
Will we still have a 10/15 minute discussion between the coaching team before we make a substitution or now that Ross is the main man will it be quicker.

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
Oh that's OK then. We then put Brophy to left back and everything is fine!

Set up not to lose against all the "very good" sides in the division, remembering to give the opposition our respect at all times to maintain our "family club" image

It'll be no different to what it has been.
I mean it's not like he's been deliberately setting up a team to play a different way because he had a different title.

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
See Ross managed to get James Alabi to score a league goal for the 1st time in 6 years.
Any other managers succesful at that task in the last 6 years ?

Alabi scored an equaliser in our promotion season, you're properly fudging the numbers by only counting EFL goals if he's been playing down at NL level for half that time.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:24 pmSee Ross managed to get James Alabi to score a league goal for the 1st time in 6 years.

James Alabi hadnt scored a League goal in 6 years
Ross saw something that said
He will score a league goal again&
For Leyton Orient.
Ross proved 100% correct.
Facts not fiction please

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
One of Ross Embletons best insights into the modern game involves keeping the ball near the corner flag when leading 1-0 against 9 men and half an hour still on the clock. It’s called the Mogadon Manoeuvre

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
Embleton has since dropped Alabi from the squad and is now putting a youth player in his place, yeah really proved correcttuffers#1 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:40 pmFudging nothing

Since taking the reigns back from Fletcher Embleton has delivered the same number of wins as the side in the relegation spot.
He's also presided over a team with the worst home form in the league.
If you pick random facts to suit your own argument you can prove anything you want.

What has it been? I honestly don’t know what he’s trying to achieve with this lot.Tent Keague wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:05 pmIt'll be no different to what it has been.
I mean it's not like he's been deliberately setting up a team to play a different way because he had a different title.
Even with Fletcher, as bad as he was, you could see what his intention was - the high tempo, high pressing, run the other team ragged approach.

I don't know what style it is. But that's a different question.RedO wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:08 amWhat has it been? I honestly don’t know what he’s trying to achieve with this lot.Tent Keague wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:05 pmIt'll be no different to what it has been.

The original question was what way will Ross go now that he is the bona fide gaffer? My answer to that was that why would it be any different now as having a different title wouldn't change your footballing philosophy.

Re: Ross Embletons football philosophy
An isolated CF
a packed midfield that neither supports the isolated CF or protects the defence
Crosses only coming in from the right because we have a makeshift LB playing behind a kid who can be blown over by a strong wind
A back four marshaled by a CB who wouldn't have been first choice if fit at the beginning of the season and a first choice CB who is currently all over the place (and not in a good way)

Unfair criticism of the back four and Sotiriou within that.jamespevans wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:19 amAn isolated CF

The back four of Judd Marvin Turley Happe is sound. It's the total lack of protection in front of them that's the issue (despite the numbers packed in there). Making out Sotiriou is lightweight is nonsense as well.

All i said was Alabi scored a league goal for the 1st time in 6 years , while under the stewardship of Ross.
So you seem to have accidently stumbled on something .
James Alabi scored the last time we won.
We havent won a League game since !
Bring back James Alabi immediately !!!!!!
