Memorable matches: Plymouth

Post by Ronnie Hotdogs »

Nice feature from the club, not seen it before.

Not sure how they could leave out the 4-2 win or the 5-0 drubbing in the rain a few seasons back, both equally memorable for differing reasons.

For me it's back to Div 3 promotion season 1969/70
Good friday, Home to Plymouth ,4-1 to the O's .Attendance just under 20,000.
We played away the next day at Bristol Rovers (Lost 1-0) and away again on Bank Holiday monday at Doncaster Rovers (won 1-0) Three games in four days  those were the days.

Plymouth game sticks in my mind. Had to look up the Two Rovers games :D .Would be worrying if I had all that info in my head

I don't think it's written with a huge amount of love tbh. The 2011 match was also memorable for it being the last match of a pretty incredible season, though it was a dead rubber, it was McGleish's last ever match for us, and he was in tears in front of the away end at the end.

Yes, I was in the east stand that day, and seem to remember Brabrook having a good game.
