Orient Supporters must be the most unfocussed set of fans in the UK. Here is a classic example of thread drift. If the players are as bad as the fans, no wonder we have won nuffink.

One of the Arab-Israeli players was sent off last night, effectively costing Israel the match. Israel’s forward Saied Abu Farchi was sent off as a result of his goal celebration.Hoover Attack wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 9:17 am https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cmwyzv05vrjdt
Some reports suggested Abu Farchi used the corner flag to simulate a gun but he appeared to be mimicking a snooker cue. He has previously posted on social media: “It’s all a celebration of snooker.”
Apparently snooker is popular in Israel.

Re: SHOULD IRELAND V ISRAEL NOT BE PLAYED?
If Europe as defined as extending as far east as the Urals, and as far south as the Caucasus, then Israel should definitely not be included. But, by this definition, neither should Turkey.
We then need to decide on the qualification criteria for those countries who are not wholly positioned within those boundaries. For example, only 28% of the Russian Federation is west of the Urals. And just a tiny percentage of Kazakhstan. Many Russians may think of themselves as culturally European, but their country is predominantly an Asian land mass.
Part of Georgia contains the Caucasus mountain range so, depending on our decision on Russia and Kazakhstan, they may qualify. But Azerbaijan and Armenia sit below the mountain range so, should qualify for the Asian tournament.

Re: SHOULD IRELAND V ISRAEL NOT BE PLAYED?
Woah, rewind a moment, faldO, you mentioned the term "Arab-Israeli player" which therefore categorizes Abu Farchi as presumably Muslim. And you say he's playing for the Israel national football team? But that's a great example of Israeli diversity, equity and inclusion right there. Fair treatment and representation for all people.faldO wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 9:45 amOne of the Arab-Israeli players was sent off last night, effectively costing Israel the match. What should one therefore make of Marx B Gold's continuous shrieking that Israel is an apartheid state?
Digging deeper it transpires that around 50% of the Israel national football squad, backroom staff and U21 set-up includes Muslim, Christian Arab, and Druze players alongside Jewish teammates.
That means the diverse religious representation in the Israeli national teams arguably outpaces that of our own home nations of England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland put together, no?
Yet racist Qin wants all those Israeli Muslim, Israeli Christian Arab, Israeli Druze, and Israeli Jewish players and backroom staff to be banned from participating in sport on the international stage. Shameful Qin sounds like Trump on his crusade to end Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The great Israeli Government propogandist & spin doctor who laughably refuses to see the genocide in Gaza & the appalling things which are happening in the West Bank. One of a number of boarders who show no concern for Palestinian lives & accuses those of us who rightly call out Israel as racist.MalvoliO wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 10:59 amWoah, rewind a moment, faldO, you mentioned the term "Arab-Israeli player" which therefore categorizes Abu Farchi as presumably Muslim. Re: SHOULD IRELAND V ISRAEL NOT BE PLAYED?
Sounds like VeganO has been secretly noshing on the pork sausages again, and is once again obsessively telling porkie pies about me.
This thread - started by the racist Qin - bashes the multi-diverse Israeli national football team (inclusive of Muslim, Christian Arab, and Druze players alongside Jewish teammates) that Qin wants to ban from the international stage.
Always challenging the "mob mentality", I often get inspired to research the shouty mob's viewpoint through a different lens (away from their pitchforks, pyres, slogans and slander), and I have pointed out how religiously diverse that Isreali football set-up actually is. No spinning, VeganO, just facts about a football set-up in a far away land.
I also compared the current Israeli national football set-up with our own four UK home nations' current footy set-up and as far as I know from a religion standpoint all of England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland has a high percentage of Christian-born players and just the one Muslim-born player (the excellent Djed Spence who I am a big fan of). I guess that is to be expected seeing as we are a Christian nation.
You evidently have nothing to actually add to this football discussion started/baited by Qin, so either disprove my minimal research, VeganO, or go and nosh down another pork sausage.

As usual, deliberately muddying the waters with a straw man. I'm not certain whether they should be banned or not, and there are legitimate questions about whether those calling for a ban should also be campaigning for other countries to be booted out of their regional competitions, but the diversity of the current Israel squad seems totally irrelevant to that debate.

Hmm, I note you do not castigate Qin for "muddying the waters" when he referenced South Africa's apartheid regime, Proposition Joe. I was replying to that incorrect insinuation.Proposition Joe wrote: Sat Sep 26, 2026 1:21 pm As usual, deliberately muddying the waters with a straw man. Dictionary definition of apartheid is "a legal system of racial segregation and political, social, and economic discrimination".
The racial diversity of the current Israel squad may seem "totally irrelevant" to you, but when racist Qin vomits up "apartheid" accusations it feels immoral not to research that assertion and provide football-related evidence that proves there is no racial segregation within the current Israel national football set-up.
In fact, the multiculturalism of the Israeli Muslim, Israeli Christian Arab, Israeli Druze, and Israeli Jewish players and backroom staff - on paper - appears to be a DEI (Diversity/Equity/Inclusion) manager's ideal case study.

Re: SHOULD IRELAND V ISRAEL NOT BE PLAYED?
My comments are directed at your general conduct on this Forum & your utter failure to condemn the behaviour of the Israeli Govt. Whether the Israeli football team is multi racial or not is irrelevant when set against the genocidal & apartheid policies of the Israeli Government. What is relevant is your disdain for non - Israeli life & your constant ignoring of the truth. That makes you a really unpleasant racist, something you accuse others of.MalvoliO wrote: Sat Sep 26, 2026 12:52 pm Sounds like VeganO has been secretly noshing on the pork sausages again, and is once again obsessively telling porkie pies about me.

Re: SHOULD IRELAND V ISRAEL NOT BE PLAYED?
The Republic of Ireland have confirmed Sunday's Uefa Nations League B3 game against Israel in Debrecen, Hungary will go ahead. A vote among players was the deciding factor, and a “significant majority” willing to fulfil the fixture.
Common sense has prevailed and the correct decision.

I was just wondering would Ireland ever have a problem playing against Nigeria considering the genocide of the Christian population in that country .

Like Qin, your understanding of the word "apartheid" is so poor that you cannot see the evidence such as from last week's Israeli footy teamsheet that fully contradicts your misguided theory, e.g. number 17 Anan Khalaili (Muslim) and number 22 Sayed Abu Farchi (Muslim) started their last game against Austria on Thursday.
If Israel was an apartheid state like 20th century South Africa then these players would not feature in the national team at all, but they do feature and they thrive. But racist Qin wants them banned.
