Why would it have cost next to nothing?Byways1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 8:18 amI don’t think is a cat in hells chance of Orient appointing Parkinson.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:05 pmAnd that's why I don't think it will be Calderwood . Get Phil Parkinson in the building ASAP.
Agree I also can’t see us paying any compensation to get Calderwood.
I would imagine it will cost about a years salary to get him.
Two weeks ago if would have cost next to nothing.
So it’s Sol Campbell ( my choice) or Mcmahan or Nugent, or even drag it out a bit longer and go for Jobi. Not very ambitious if that’s the case.

Sol is the man.Disoriented wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 8:41 pm Calderwood will be a divisive figure. We need a unifier instead.
Not going to happen.
It will be Calderwood, Nugent Hendon or maybe even Jobi.
I can’t see the appointment being ambitious.

1. No. Have never met Trump either and conclude he is divisive.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 8:50 pmOn what basis do you make this statementDisoriented wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 8:41 pm Calderwood will be a divisive figure. We need a unifier instead.
Have you:
1 Ever met him
2. Know anyone that has either met him or worked with him
3. Have you ever been coached by anyone and know anything about football
4. Have you ever managed staff at work
2. See previous answer.
3. Yes
4. Yes
Anything else fella? I usually find these Q and A sessions rather boring TBH.

Wait a few days and Nathan Jones will be available!!
I will always back the club, but I'm hoping for someone who's not on the various forum lists (I have no one in mind).

Yes, I also noticed that . It's surprising because with us and Salford out of the way , I thought they would be top of the National League this season .

Maybe THAT photo on his desk has affected him more than he thinks .RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2019 9:44 pm

May take a year to shake out of his system .
Or could just simply be they lost a couple of there best players from last year
And the New boys haven't settled yet. Either way , still a decent coach.

Re: Colin Calderwood
He signed a contract extension, so it's reasonable to assume that the compensation amount would be much the same if it's specified in the contract, or that Cambridge would argue for a similar amount in negotiations. Particularly since his previous contract ran until the end of this season, so slightly more than "a few months".

I wonder if this will have any impact on the Colin Calderwood situation?

Re: Colin Calderwood
Interesting that Cambridge wouldn't confirm if we've made an approach for him. He would be a decent choice but anyway I doubt we could get him. I still think we will end up with somebody who's currently unemployed .redintheface wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 2:27 pm I wonder if this will have any impact on the Colin Calderwood situation?

Me too. Time to hang up the boots so to speak.
But it won’t happen. Not enough recent experience.

Develpoments at Cambridge
Whether it is good for them with Calderwood or whether it is bad for Calderwood may become clearer in the next few days.

But signing a New Contract recently would suggest that the owner wants to keep him
