Re: Happe on his way - confirmed
A solid League One defender when he was fit and I think he and Forrester could have formed a good partnership next season.

Re: Happe on his way - confirmed
Hope we aren’t going to see loads of players leave before we sign incoming players again. This was lings way , get everybody out brfore we bring anyone in. Then when we are ready the decent players have signed elsewhere . Good luck to Dan , that’s quite a surprise Aberdeen !

Didn`t RW say in one of his post-interviews that the out-of-contract players had to accept a pay cut if they were signing new deals?

Re: Happe on his way - confirmed
Pretty clear RW didn't rate him last season; though was fine with him during 24/25.Bergen wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 8:28 pm Didn`t RW say in one of his post-interviews that the out-of-contract players had to accept a pay cut if they were signing new deals?
It didn't look like Happe was enjoying playing for RW much, either - and the way this club rolls now seemingly is all the players leave instead.
Probably the right time to go, on that basis.
Good luck to the bloke - was an honest player and a good servant across 250+ games, unless I'm mistaken..

Re: Happe on his way - confirmed
Nothing to do with Omar going. Nothing to do with Wellens comments about the centre halves. Nothing to do with Forrester being captain. Dan took a long time to sign his contract at the beginning of last season and then only committed to the one year. I think it was obvious then that he was looking for a new opportunity, good luck to him.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 6:27 pm I bet Dan made his mind up to go as soon as Omar Beckles got shown the door.

Reckon they’d have played 10 games max together. Need a replacement that can play 40 games a season. And do the nasty stuff.Bergen wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2026 7:57 pm A solid League One defender when he was fit and I think he and Forrester could have formed a good partnership next season.

Depends if the club actually sign a replacement or put one of the Boco Island inhabitants at CB insteadE10quence wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 8:43 am I reckon by November we'll have a new thread on here bemoaning his departure, a la Jordan Brown last season.

Given those names above, out of choice, not necessity, who would you start.
I would suggest,
Forrester
Morris
EL Miz
Connelly
Ballard.
Assuming the last two are still here.
This rebuild puts last seasons in the shade.

And 3 of those didn’t even manage half the games last season. Dom will be gone. So it’s basically a whole new team we need.Leger Ritson wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 10:16 am Given those names above, out of choice, not necessity, who would you start.

It really doesn't. As above, we've got five Championship-ready starters right now.Leger Ritson wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 10:16 am Given those names above, out of choice, not necessity, who would you start.

By January, we only had Clare, O'Neill, James, Happe, Phillips and Abdulai left from the play-off final - none of whom I would consider Championship-ready (with possible exception of O'Neill).
Josh Keeley – Gone summer 2025
Ethan Galbraith – Gone summer 2025
Omar Beckles – Gone January 2026
Rarmani Edmonds-Green – Injured whole season
Jack Currie – Gone summer 2025
Jordan Brown – Gone summer 2025
Sean Clare
Daniel Agyei – Gone summer 2025
Jamie Donley – Gone summer 2025
Ollie O'Neill
Charlie Kelman – Gone summer 2025
Tom James
Dan Happe
Randell Williams – Gone summer 2025
Dominic Ball – Gone summer 2025
Noah Phillips
Dilan Markanday – Gone summer 2025
Azeem Abdulai

Re: Happe on his way - confirmed
Think the opposite. Well realise whoever’s signed to replace him is better and plays less games. Happe didn’t play for us enough over the last few years to really miss him. Jordan Brown is one of those players you can pretty much guarantee about 40 games a season fromE10quence wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2026 8:43 am I reckon by November we'll have a new thread on here bemoaning his departure, a la Jordan Brown last season.
