That would be ideal but I would rather Cooper played left back and keep our shape than go with three at the back. It takes away too much from our game. Ideally Brown would be back as well but if not, Dom Ball with Clare.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 2:54 pmAll comes down to whether Currie is fit enough to do a full game.Jeremy Bentham wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 2:47 pmRichie has to play our normal shape on Wednesday. Won the penalty?DelightInE10 wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 2:53 pmCould see Currie's impact but O'Neill barely had a sniff. Is he and Tom James really match fit? Think Currie definitely starts on Wednesday but with Brown seemingly out injured, we need Galbraith in the middle but is Tom James ready to start?Mistadobalina wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 2:35 pm Stockport look a better side in all honesty, but ONeil and Currie changed things for us. No idea why they took their foot off the gas, could have killed the tie.

O’Neill looked a real threat when he got on the ball.
Won the penalty as well
Currie & James need to start if fit on Wednesday
O’Neill as well, get 60 mins from him?

TJ has been out for ages, Cooper did well at left back before. I would start Currie on Wednesday for as long as he can make it then play Cooper or Sweeney for the remainder of the game.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 2:58 pmTj & Currie both out. TJ & Cooper will start. Football when they are on the pitch is far far better.Jeremy Bentham wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 3:17 pmTJ has been out for ages, Cooper did well at left back before. Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
A good - and fair - result today. We benefitted from the dodgy offside goal but equally were denied a clear penalty on Kelman so evens out.
Stockport absolutely dominated for large periods of that game. They were well on top until the first Orient goal where they (understandably) lost their heads until halftime.
They were dominant again from the start of the second half and deserved to go ahead. A key turning point for me was when they started to sit back quite heavily on the 70th minute mark. In my opinion this was too soon for them to go cautious. They could have gone on for a 3rd and really give Orient a job on Weds but invited pressure too early. That not only cost them another goal it gave Orient a way back in - which they duly took.
I enjoy watching Stockport play. They are strong opposition with a great manager and decent fanbase.

Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
Frustrating game in parts but I think both managers probably would have taken that score before the game and I’m pretty happy with it.
After they went 2-1 up the crowd and the team went completely flat for 15 mins and I thought we were done. Shows our character that we came back strong and could have won it at the end.
Will need a better performance up there if we are to progressive but pressure now on them to attack, which will play into our hands. We are well in it still.

I thought it was a fair result , kelman was miles offside for his goal but was denied a certain penalty , we play better away so roll on Wednesday

Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
Find it baffling they decided to play for the 2-1 win in a two legged tie. As the last 10 minutes showed, knockout football over two legs can be decided by momentum. You can dominate 170 minutes but lose if you don't make your pressure count. The Reverend wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 4:18 pm A good - and fair - result today. On chances, there wasn't all that much between the two sides today. They definitely looked the better team overall, but both sides missed great chances.

Think that was definitely a case of levelling up the decisions to cover the offside goal. Both handballs were too blatant for either to be denied.

Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
Just back. We weren't quite at the races today. But I couldn't fathom the reason we were playing the formations we were. IMO Donley should have been playing closer to the forward line and Dan the Man should have been running the lines 5-10 yards in from touch, not almost on the touchline. But anyway roll-on Wednesday. We are on holiday then, so I just hope the hotel wi-fi can handle the Os streaming.
The match would have made another £250 - £500K for Mr Devlin today. That'll boost his bonus.

Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
Don’t know about smash it - they’re a really good side - but I fancy us. The whole tie has swing back in our favour after that late equaliser. Stockport were definitely the better team today and didn’t capitalise on it.
Ultimately it’s going to come down to Wellens v Challinor and who is the better tactician - my money is on Richie.

Yup. I’m a massive pessimist but I’ve never been this sure of a result before. I said a few days ago that I’d be be happy with a draw or or a 1-0 win, and with the way we play away right now they’ll be sh*t scared of us on the breakaway, plus I saw nothing that makes me scared of them.

Re: Exiles thread - Stockport (H - Play-off)
Decent draw for us against probably the best opposition seen at Brisbane Road this season.
Thought we did well to fight back and get our 2nd goal and Beckles could have nicked it at the end.
Kelman looked way offside for our 1st and you could understand why Stockport were up in arms.
Think I’d be happier if Currie starts on Wednesday.

We came away with a draw despite not being able to get our 3 most dangerous players in Donley, Galbraith and Agyei into the game for large parts of the match.
If Richie can make that happen on Wednesday, we’ll be ok.

I am not sure TJ will start. He’s not had the minutes. I think he’ll go to a back four. Currie will come in. Ethan at RB. Hopefully Brown fit.Bandy Legs wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 3:46 pmTJ & Cooper will start. Four play-off games played as of now, and we're the only home side not to have lost.
