Really? Has that been announced anywhere?
You don’t listen to any podcasts then.

He's not exactly an unknown. Our scouts will have looked at him and decided he's not worth the gamble. I'd be inclined to agree.

Peterboro operate a different model -for every player they sell on to a Championship club for a £1m+, how many of these signings do they make that they end up releasing?

Good luck to him if he does go there, of course.
Yes 22 in December 23 was a typo. 13 League and 4 Cup goals = 17.

You say Peterborough sell on for a £million+ and discard a lot of signings - difference is we never sign players from non league clubs to sell on let alone for a £million - nothing ventured nothing gained - I trust my opinion on players and he's going to be a good player for them.
Posh have a lot of scouts.

Ling mentioned joining a U21 league in one of his podcast interviews. Sounds a bit like the B Team idea he mentioned a few years back

Probably also because there’s no reserves league and it’s hard to get our players returning from injury any game time. Assume those u21 leagues have rules where you can have a couple of older players in one game

I heard they get these non league players because they pay top money. Add in wages over the length of the contract and if it doesn’t pan out it’s an expensive mistake
Can’t really fault our recruitment this year, finishing 6th with a 15th or 16th budget, not too many clubs i, if any, will have managed that level of outperformance.
Our recruitment team should be getting all the awards this season, stunning job. Ok, off to a dodgy start but can’t get them all 100%
Posh don't pay massive wages their wage bill last season was I believe less than ours they know that most of the signings they make from lower levels wont make it but it's part of their strategy, they only have to unearth one or two gems and they are quids in - it must work for them or else they would not persevere with it. We have recruited well this season our use of the loan market has been the best I can ever remember but we have to do that again next season, it's great we bring in these players and develop them but at the end of the day it's only a short term benefit for us. Lets hope we can unearth a few more Ethan's.
Could it not similarly be said that Orient’s approach must work for Orient, since they persevere with it?

Using the loan market makes your money go further than it otherwise would. We're getting use of players we would otherwise be unable to afford.
But losing Five key players this summer means that for the third summer running RW will need a serious rebuild, it’s no wonder we have started the last two seasons so slowly, I imagine Richie is quite frustrated having rebuilds pre season after pre season and having to literally write off the first six games getting the players up to speed with his patterns of play. Hopefully the new investor can find funds so we can get in better players on longer contracts and cut our reliance on loan players.
