Last time we won 4-1 on the last day of the season

Post by Bandy Legs »

Am I right in thinking the last time we beat a team on the last game of the season 4-1 & qualified for the play-offs we went on to beat a team that started with the letter S & then beat a team in the final with the letter W ?

1988/1989 Scarborough & Wrexham

2024/2025 Stockport & Wycombe

Am I clutching at staws with Omens ?

We won 4-1 at Plymouth in 2011 and just missed out on the playoffs by a single point.

Scunthorpe in 88/89. Cooper hat trick and the infamous 'congratulations on your promotion Scunthorpe ' comment from Keith Simpson.

I remember running on the pitch at the end that day as a teenager and cacking my pants when a load of Scunthorpe fans ran on (wrongly) thinking they’d been promoted. Fun times

Followed by beating a team that starts with S & then a team starting with W.

I nearly forgot about Keith Simpsons faux pas
