Re: The trans debate
To be fair to both of you, “my friends will be sad”, “lol these transphobes have issues, that’s why they are hating on us!”, and “I’m not even engaging with or reading what TERFs say” is exactly the arguments that seem to be put forward by trans activists in the court cases, employment tribunals, public enquiries etc that end up, funnily enough, with the people putting forward a clear argument winning.

Re: The trans debate
You will of course be aware that the "activists" were barred from making representations to the Supreme Court in the most recent judgement. No wonder they can't win!!CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 3:56 pm To be fair to both of you, “my friends will be sad”, “lol these transphobes have issues, that’s why they are hating on us!”, and “I’m not even engaging with or reading what TERFs say” is exactly the arguments that seem to be put forward by trans activists in the court cases, employment tribunals, public enquiries etc that end up, funnily enough, with the people putting forward a clear argument winning.

Jolyon Maugham from the Goodlaw Project calls on all good and decent citizens to start using the "wrong" toilets.

Re: The trans debate
It’s genuinely bizarre that the extremists on both sides focus on toilets when they’re the element of this whole issue where the ruling makes the least difference.

Well, yes.
Congratulations on the weirdest false equivalence on a thread that’s full of them, I guess?

Re: The trans debate
Well I will, obviously. I’ve got an idea - people who want to discuss this do it here, and you don’t click on the thread? Then everyone’s happy, right? No downsides there.
Glad you agree. Off you go x

Re: The trans debate
Well yes, when something is established in law, it tends to be adopted.
But again, bathrooms are the least relevant aspect of this, and the aspect that will change least in practice - those who “pass” as the opposite sex will presumably carry on doing as they choose, and be unnoticed, and those who look male can be challenged by women who don’t want to share their spaces with male people.
Maybe try reading and understanding the arguments before posting a link with a vague notion that something bad has happened

Maybe try to understand that people who will be affected, who are very fearful, are more important than someone who has an unhealthy obsession with a subject that has no impact on them personally.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 8:51 am Well yes, when something is established in law, it tends to be adopted.
