Carlisle relegated
To the conference. Feel a bit sorry for them. Thought they were a nice club with a fantastic stadium. The staff were really pleasant as well. Can’t be easy for their fans having some of the longest away days in football. Hope they bounce back.

Re: Carlisle relegated
seconded.
Nice club to visit and always a nice welcome.
They will get local games like Truro City next season, just to rub their noses in it :-(
Morecambe also gone. Another nice club. It will be a long way back for them for sure.

Re: Carlisle relegated
Paul Simpson did extremely well to get them into division one. No surprise with a bottom half of division two budget Paul Simpson couldn't keep them up last season. In my opinion they correctly decided to retain Paul for this season, that lasted just four matches and he was gone. Perhaps they regret that decision now. We lost our first 5 matches this season, but fortunately our American owners were not so trigger happy.

Re: Carlisle relegated
Yes it is but I hope we have some interesting trips to look forward to in The Championship - Sunderland and Middlesborough?

Had to smile, Barrow are now describing themselves as the only Football League Club in Cumbria.

Good riddance. Got stones, bottles and other things thrown at us when we were leaving Brunton Park after we drew in 21/22.

Re: Carlisle relegated
Always feel for any traditional EFL club relegated, we know what it’s like all too well.
Was delighted to see Barrow return eventually to the EFL, and I wish Carlisle as quick a return as they had when they previously dropped out. I note the top of the National League is packed with ex EFL clubs

Point of debate how long do you need to be in the football league to be a Traditional EFL club?EastDerehamO wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 8:33 am Always feel for any traditional EFL club relegated, we know what it’s like all too well.

Yeah, has always been a pretty grim away day.Loyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 5:42 pm Good riddance. Got stones, bottles and other things thrown at us when we were leaving Brunton Park after we drew in 21/22.
Good riddance.
Re: Carlisle relegated
I'm still bitter about them beating us to that third promotion spot in 1974, so good riddance.
Re: Carlisle relegated
I was at that last match against Aston Villa in 1974. We didn't blow it that night, we went through a bad patch, rather like the 5 defeats on the trot this season. If only we'd just won of those 5 .....
