Re: What are you Listening To?
Listened to Sebadoh's Bakesale earlier. What an outstanding record. That whole West Coast (or grunge-ish adjacent) thing seems to have passed me by somehow but ended up having a great few hours afterwards listening to Dinosaur Jr, Archers of Loaf, Lungfish etc.
Making a concerted effort to listen to albums in full rather than mixes, up to a dozen or so over the past week - Idlewild, PJ Harvey, Nas, Violent Soho (even Feeder, oddly) - and really enjoying it. Something akin to how I used to devour this stuff.

Re: What are you Listening To?
Japanese Breakfast’s new LP, bit more of a slow burn than the previous one but possibly better.
Yumi & The Weather’s 2018 debut.

Re: What are you Listening To?
They're great. Finally saw them at The Dome last summer for what was, I think, their 40th anniversary tour. Absolutely rattled through a really good set. One of the depressingly few gigs I saw last year.
(Also have the kids book that one of them wrote!)

Re: What are you Listening To?
I've been doing the same. Going back and listening to some of those old (and some newer) albums as they were intended to be heard is great, especially when you rediscover those slow-burn album tracks that often get missed off of playlists.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 8:25 pm Making a concerted effort to listen to albums in full rather than mixes, up to a dozen or so over the past week - Idlewild, PJ Harvey, Nas, Violent Soho (even Feeder, oddly) - and really enjoying it. I've been listening to some early Swervedriver albums (Raise, Mezcal Head) and I can report that they've held up well over the years.

Re: What are you Listening To?
Listened to a podcast about modest mouse and then listened to the Lonesome Crowded West which is immense.
New stuff to me I’m getting through atm is CMATs first album, Cures latest album, Jack Whites no name.
Also listening to Incubus’ re-recording of morning phase as I’m seeing them live on Saturday

Going through a Beatles phase at the moment. Was never a big fan but can see why Revolver gets critical acclaim.

The new Teen Mortgage album for me, leading the grunge/punk revival from Washington DC, although the singer is a scouser which gives them a Brit punk feel too.

That's like asking someone to pick their favourite child. (Obviously, they'll have a favourite, but can never admit it).Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 10:24 amFavourite track of all time?

Just got in from the match and I am going to listen to the two Wire records that the postman brought this morning. Silver/Lead and Nocturnal Koreans.
