Pre vs post takeover announcement
The club confirmed they were talking to an interested party about a majority investment on 17th feb.
10 games prior to 17th feb - W8 D1 L1 25pts 2.5pts per game automatic promotion form
10 games after 17th feb - W3 D1 L6 10pts 1pts per game relegation form
Just sayin’ like…

Re: Pre vs post takeover announcement
It does make sense.
We were told RW was kept informed and I'm sure he was told he'd keep his job as long as he kept the wage bill down by marking sure we didn't end up in the championship.
When the company you are working for it at risk of a takeover by American Venture Capitalists you have to do what you can to save yourself.

I think key players getting injuries had much more of an impact.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 8:55 am BTW Im not suggesting that ^ because its bonkers. More the distraction and timing of announcements possibly didnt help matters.

This makes absolutely zero sense. They are paying £18m for us because they see it as relatively 'cheap' for a league 1 level club with high potential for growth. Being in the championship would immediately increase the value of what they've bought and get us within a division of the jackpot ie premiership money, which is what the whole football financial bubble is predicated on.Lost not Found wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 8:43 am It does make sense.

I think I recall an 'ear interview with Scott McGleish c2010, where a few questions were put to him about things Hearn was up to with the club (i.e. the ground sale etc). It was interesting how little of the business side filtered through to the players.

Re: Pre vs post takeover announcement
They have regular "all staff" meetings now though, so I think that will have changed

Re: Pre vs post takeover announcement
During a takeover the staff are usually the last to find out about anything
And that’s the way the principals like it, whatever they say to the contrary
