Damn those righties with all their scrutinising and challenging.
Not just the righties, it would seem. Even tax accountants are noticing things.

Considering he only deals with tax accountancy, that Neidle chap is often really interesting. Thoroughly concerned with facts and accuracy, which almost feels quaint.

That's the problem with the left's tendency to leap to worship false gods, just because they're saying something that broadly sounds right to them. When those false gods turns out to be just that - false - it undermines the credibility of anyone and anything associated with them. And then they start blaming everyone that points out the falsehoods instead of the grifters that were taking them for fools all along.

I suspect that Dan Neidle will now be getting painted as the villain of the piece in certain quarters.

"The Left". The sweeping generalisation. The false analysis. When will this grifting stop.

Neidle is a bit like Gaz. Former cog in the wheel of the City elite having made serious money at a top law firm advising corporates etc on tax avoidance. Now likes facts. Huzzah.

So what Gary meant to say was a 'New Labour loop hole'? His mistake was confusing Tories with New Labour.

Be fair, that's pretty understandable.

But it's only saved him something like £300k. Small change amongst the sums we should be looking at.

Questions we should be asking are how comes our elected politicians have that much wealth given the salaries they're on. And who those apartments were purchased from and if there's anything dodgy going on there.

Compared to the Establishment people she fraternises with, she's probably right.

It is an easy mistake to make but, nevertheless, it is still a mistake. And should be called out and the perpetrator suitably punished.

It's reassuring that in these days of False Information, we have people on the case ready to pounce on such major mis-speakings. Well done to those involved.

Agreed. It's almost like they are trying to deflect from his excellent points by undermining his credibility. Weird thing is even the hard left types like Dummers and Obsessoguy are getting in on the act. How can that be explained?

I'm beginning to think that Dunnem isn't as far left as he makes out. I'm not even sure he dyes his hair - I suspect that's it's naturally like that.

This probably isn't the right thread for this, but something weird has happened. Owen Jones has written an article in The Guardian which I broadly agree with.

Jones name-checks Lynch as someone who has wider appeal and can maintain a coherent argument on economic policy without being drawn into divisive issues and culture war debates. But then the comments under the article immediately go into "what about his position on Brexit" territory, and just undermine Jones's efforts.

There are always going to be issues where there are differences of opinion. It's not new. It’s how a political movement deals with them that counts. It doesn't undermine Jones's argument.

Because the Guardian BTL crew just aren't serious people.

A Labour MP has been arrested on suspicion of rape and child sex offences.

Dan Norris, a former minister and the serving MP for North East Somerset, was arrested and taken into custody after police raided his constituency home on Friday.

Mr Norris, who previously worked as a teacher and child protection officer, has been immediately suspended from the Labour Party pending the outcome of the police investigation.

Labour to nationalise British steel despite it losing £700,000 a day. Not great business.

Good news for the workers.

Another failed Thatcherite privatisation. Let's hope its water next then the trains and then another 200 top companies.
