Ruel will always be a divisive character but I always liked him for the important goals he scored.
I don’t get the vitriol on here for a professional who was offered a large pay rise to ply his trade elsewhere, many on here would do the same, after all it’s a short career.

Strange, like a dog with a bone !!

Agreed. I dont slag off current or past players. Good luck to Ruel - its a short career and he has to maximise his income whilst he can. He will be a long time retired after football and will need another career afterwards that probably won't pay as much.

Just had a glance at the bottom of the league table
Bottom 3 have clearly gone but would be amazing if burton could catch them.
2 late Burton goals yesterday narrowed the gap to 6 points
Our 5-0 loss at the Imps was our worst performance since our worst-ever performance at Brissie. But it did follow on from our seasons best performance on saturday

Yup, horrible footballer to watch and treated the club with disdain not once but twice with his contract demands. Good riddance

Footballers can have a very short working life, career ending injuries can happen any time, ask Theo about that !
If you were working on contract for a firm, your contract was coming to and end and another firm offered you a longer contract with around 60% more wages for doing the same sort of job, why would you not take it ? Also I would guess that Bristol may well be a cheaper place to live than London, renting a place to live etc. Football players often move to different clubs in their careers for better wages, contracts etc, its a normal thing that often happens. Ruel took a chance on bettering himself and why not indeed.
