It literally took you months to work out the joke mate.

I haven't actually argued that I 100% agree with the guidance, just that the actual issue has been willfully misrepresented.

The aim of the guidance is to reduce identified disparities that already exist, not introduce them. This seems to have been understood by the vast majority of people who responded to the consultation. Is it now just utter woke nonsense to feel the need to think about that at all?

The letter from the chairman of the sentencing council to Shabana Mahmood explains it much better than I can, and is a quick Google search away (although quite a long read).

The more important point for me is that the sentencing council is independent for very good reasons.

As for not being willing to argue a point to the death on here, Pammy has never knowingly made a sincere comment on here in 20 years and I literally can't keep up with rate of your replies which as a starting point would generally require going through all the things that aren't actually what I've said. I'm afraid, as infuriating as you find it, I'll stick to the occasional comment and snark.

That was a quick delete Pammy.

Morning MM

I note your change in approach from “It’s not happening” to “It’s happening but here’s why and here’s why the council’s independence is important”.

It’s a shame you didn’t take that approach from the start as we could have had an interesting discussion.

I think you’re right to trust your instincts and limit your posting on the matter.

Sigh, I guess I’ll have to explain it to you again.

As you are undoubtedly aware, regardless of the purpose of
the guidance, it creates two tiers “Normally considered for” and “can still be necessary” based on factors such as skin colour. So your claim that’s not what’s happening is demonstrably false.

What you call a furore is actually just the media doing its job and pointing out what’s wrong

Dismissing the concerns as “The wording could be improved” is quite hilarious actually given we are talking about the law where wording is everything.

Glad I could help, although I expect your ego will blind you again and you’ll quadruple down

The bloke in charge says there is already a two-tier system. This guidance just levels the playing field.
