Kevin Nolan
It is easy to forget, but the Cobblers manager used to be our (player) manager back in the day. I think we lost 0-4 to Northampton Town in one of his first games in charge. He is looking forward to returning to 'fantastic club' Leyton Orient tomorrow.

Re: Kevin Nolan
Saw him play in a midweek game at Carlisle where Cureton slammed one into the back of the net.
Sadly it was to be his one and only goal for Orient.

Re: Kevin Nolan
I dont think he knew what he wasn't getting himself in for. Being a player manager and all with the sh*t show happening at the same time. He did alright. But by all accounts, didnt cover himself in glory at the end of season awards...

Re: Kevin Nolan
From memory, started well as a manager here, but wheels off pretty quickly and replaced by Hessenthaler. Was a v difficult time for the club of course under Beelzebub.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 7:32 pm I dont think he knew what he wasn't getting himself in for. Thought he was toilet as a player but perhaps I expected too much based on his reputation.
The awards revealed him to be the drunken coked up oik many had suspected for a long time.

Nolan didn’t play with Cureton in an Os shirt to my knowledgeMax B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 7:23 pm Saw him play in a midweek game at Carlisle where Cureton slammed one into the back of the net.

Sssh. I needed a pivot to give an outing to my annual Cureton meme.DaveDunmore wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 8:27 pmNolan didn’t play with Cureton in an Os shirt to my knowledgeMax B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 7:23 pm Saw him play in a midweek game at Carlisle where Cureton slammed one into the back of the net.

I did see Nolan at Carlisle though in a midweek 2-2 when Ollie Palmer surprised the Greater Cumbria Area and those travellers from East London by scoring a goal. Nolan was gash BTW.

Re: Kevin Nolan
He rushed himself back because he was so desperate to be back on the pitch IMO. If he stayed on the touchline then got a full pre seaon under his belt then I reckon he would have been excellent for us. Still, there we go...

Re: Kevin Nolan
Pretty sure the owners rushed him back and were pushing for him to just be a player rather than a manager after a few monthsLoyal_Supporter wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 2:42 pmHe rushed himself back because he was so desperate to be back on the pitch IMO. It was so simple forhe just had to supply the money and leave the staff to do their job but the ego was too large and madness ensued.
