Very poor performance v a very poor Rotherham
Could have and should have won the game in 1st half
Very disappointing
4 defeats on the spin
Really missing Currie, I’ve said it a few times, take Currie out our side, we not only lose a top defender, but we lose out attacking threat down left
Gailbraith needs to play central
Abduali needs to start on left, he hasn’t started on left since he scored his Hatrick
Markanday down right
Agyei No.9
Kelman needs a rest

Our budget is around 10th for the division and we will probably finish around 10th. A big fat nothing done. We should get Richie for another season though.

One of our better players tonight. Strange you pick him out compared to some dog sh*t performances
Tbh you’re right. He probably did have a better game than some tonight but the knock on effect of having him in, instead of Currie is substantial. He lacks so much precision on the ball. Granted he’s a scrappy 1on1 defender and he does work hard in duels etc.
But on the ball, he looked out of place in league 2. I like the kid but he’s such a level below what we need

Fair but he’s second choice. He’s a decent enough back up. The timing of him coming in couldn’t have been worse

I think most supporters get it, but want the lad to succeed. He did ok tonight, as did the whole defence. The problem is as a whole they are not play offs standard. Currie is, Beckles and Happe are. Without them we aren’t quite good enough.

The fact that Currie is such a good full back overall makes the comparison with Sweeney a little unfair tbh and emphasises the difference in quality more than say if we had James or Rob Hunt at LB as we did last season. Additionally without Beckles, Happe and Simpson the current CB pairing is still very new.

To be fair, I know Sweeney and Cooper and co aren't quality but in the last four games bar the Birmingham one, every goal has been a set-piece, which need to be defended as a team

I agree. We are vulnerable. Opposition teams know it too now. It’s all very well knowing what’s coming but we don’t have the height currently to defend it. REG and Cooper are not big central defenders and we are struggling.

No one player should be signalled out
We lost the game as we didn't take our chances.
Simple as that
Positives
Dan Agyei was very good tonight, and is getting up to full speed.
The schedule for next 3 games are Sat games
Currie only has 1 game left of ban

Sweeney would not get in any other league one side. His next move will be down along with Obiero.

It's just statement of fact they aren't good enough and whatever happens this season we need to move them on to progress if we have real ambition at this level. There's a big rebuild coming in summer and we'll lose players we'd rather keep but also need to shed some that might want to stay.

Serious question. Do you expect us to have a squad where every player is the full article, experienced, would start in every league one team?

Would you prefer we didn’t sign Abdulai and Williams but had a better 2nd choice left back and 8th choice winger?

A squad is a squad. Sweeney and Obeiro will be on peanuts and in their allotted roles I.e. depth and cover, with mainly the odd cameo they are absolutely fine and still developing.

Oberio was one hope that someone from the Youth team in recent years, that could become a regular and now he is last choice Midfielder. Pegrum is out on loan and looks unlikely to make it either.
We just can't produce any from Youth level since Ruel who can become a regular.

Sounds like some people cannot accept we had an off day and lost because as a team, we simply didn’t take our chances.

We didn’t lose because Sweeney or any other player played poor.

Completely Understand we are all disappointed and frustrated, but it’s unfair to signal out individual players, I guess some fans just need a scapegoat/s to signal out and blame, instead of accepting we lost as a team and move on to next game and get behind your players.

Northampton are in for a thumping on Saturday 💪🏻

I don’t think anyone played particularly badly, but aside from Agyei and Galbraith nobody played particularly well.

We go again Saturday. As RW has just said we need to get on another run.

Yes having players that can compete in key positions not just filler. Means being ruthless with the squad in summer, not just the obvious ones like releasing Archibald and Graham but also fan favourite players who spend half the season injured. Been carrying too many this season, it's even been mentioned in manager interviews that the budget has taken up too much in that way.

Sweeney imo should've been gone in summer or at very least loaned out to League 2. We were all quite happy to slate Hemming but when it's an Orient academy player they get extra slack because of the "one of our own" sentimentality. If Sweeney was any good we wouldn't have needed to bring Currie in after the season started.

Hopefully something that will change with extra investors and a further injection of funds.

Everyone knows Sweeney isn't as good as Currie and we miss Beckles and Happe at set pieces but the main problem is we've scored two goals in 4 games, not the defence. A couple off weeks ago we'd have scored four against this lot.
