Re: Currie Red
I thought that the foul on Sweeney leading to their first goal was a worse refereeing decision than the red card. Red cards can be extremely murky and subjective. Whereas the foul on Sweeney was clear as day; no need for a replay, different camera angles, and no need to apply any interpretation.

Re: Currie Red
There’s a picture of when Currie touches the ball and the Birmingham player is a couple of feet away. In real time it looks like they get to ball at same time

Re: Currie Red
I’d presume they will wait until today if they were going to appeal as it allows Currie to play tomorrow while the appeal is being considered at the FA. Unless of course they come back straight away with a decision.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 5:32 pmThis is also what I'd like to know . The silence on this issue suggests we're not going to.

And just remembered someone fist-pumping the crowd at the final whistle - I'm going to assume it was him - as if they'd just qualified for the final of the Autowindscreens Final or something, rather than merely cantered to a thoroughly unentertaining routine victory against 10 men.CharlieO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 4:23 pmHe makes 3 points, he has seen them given in the Premier league, VAR would have picked up on it, and the Brum player was lucky not to get injured. Neither of the first two are relevant only what would happen in commensurate circumstances in other L1 games, and he wasn't lucky not to get injured, he didn't get injured because it was not a reckless or dangerous interception. As said, the only reason the ball ran away from Currie and he had to make an interception rather than have the ball under control was because he was tugged back. He didnt go in studs up, he actuall flicks the ball with his toes. Usually the home ex players who co-commentate on lower league games are wall-eyed biased, but the ex blue on sky+ was adamant on first sight and after replays that it wasn't reckless nor was he off the ground as suggested and was an error by the officials. He was also clear that orient had dominated the game to then and birmingham were struggling to play their normal game.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 9:31 amf*cking hell. This guy is so up himself . Some of his quotes about us and the red card and how they dominated![]()
The same ref has already had a red card rescinded so hasn't developed a learning faculty, particularly as the assistant right in front of the incident gave a throw; they normally flag like demented puppies if they can signal a foul and get involved in the game.

Re: Currie Red
In my opinion 100% proof it wasn't a red card . A ridiculous decision which I believe cost us the game

Re: Currie Red
Apologies for continuing this but could someone help with a bit of clarification.
1 Has the referee publicly stated that Curie's red was a mistake.
2 Has the club appealed or going to appeal it.
If the answer to n.o 1 is yes and to n.o 2 is no why not.
And even if the club hasn't appealed surely following the ref stating it was wrong shouldn't the EFL unilaterally recind it.
Confused.

Hasn’t Richie said that despite everyone saying it wasn’t a red the overturning committee didnt over turn it?

From what I've read and understand it, stand to be corrected though if anyone has better evidence:Leger Ritson wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 2:22 pm Apologies for continuing this but could someone help with a bit of clarification.

1) he's admitted it in private to the club
2) yes but FA upheld the red

Teams really love beating us, because we’re considered to be a very difficult team to beat (although that might start to wear off a bit now)Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 9:55 amAnd just remembered someone fist-pumping the crowd at the final whistle - I'm going to assume it was him - as if they'd just qualified for the final of the Autowindscreens Final or something, rather than merely cantered to a thoroughly unentertaining routine victory against 10 men.CharlieO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 4:23 pmHe makes 3 points, he has seen them given in the Premier league, VAR would have picked up on it, and the Brum player was lucky not to get injured. Re: Currie Red
This is the standard of refereeing we're dealing with, until VAR intervention Oliver didn't even give a card

I don't understand the fuss about this. He blew up knowing he could use the technology to view back an incident that happened at speed. He then gave a red. That would seem like exactly what var is there for.

Re: Currie Red
The GK was so far out of his area, he made a big error and went with his feet instead of his head, terrible kung fu tackle, from a reserve GK, which says it all.
What's the point of an extended ban, he's an inexperienced reserve GK.
What he should do, is make a public apology, hold his hands up, show some empathy, and apologise to Mateta.

Allegedly a ‘section’ of the Millwall support was chanting “let him die”, which is pretty grim if it’s true

As for the section of Millwall supporters who were singing 'let him die' what do we expect from these sicko's who call themselves football supporters, they are what they are, sick thugs, who follow a team, they are not fans.

Re: Currie Red
The only thing I wouldn't look forward to being in the Championship is having Millwall back again at Brisbane Rd . The last time we played them at home they ripped up some of the sets in the East Stand and smashed the women's toilets . They won the game as well . I would hate to think what would have happened if they had lost .Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:43 pmDidn't know that, pleased to hear GK contacted Mateta.oxo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:37 pm“Mateta was also contacted by Roberts himself while in hospital, and the Mirror report that the striker had ‘no ill feeling’ toward the keeper and ‘they wished each other well”Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:13 pm The GK was so far out of his area, he made a big error and went with his feet instead of his head, terrible kung fu tackle, from a reserve GK, which says it all.

You’ve never heard Orient fans sing the exact same song?Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:43 pmDidn't know that, pleased to hear GK contacted Mateta.oxo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:37 pm“Mateta was also contacted by Roberts himself while in hospital, and the Mirror report that the striker had ‘no ill feeling’ toward the keeper and ‘they wished each other well”Stan1972 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 3:13 pm The GK was so far out of his area, he made a big error and went with his feet instead of his head, terrible kung fu tackle, from a reserve GK, which says it all.
