Peter Kay

Post by ChorizO »

Seems a tad sensitive and comes across as all Bertie Big Bowlocks after throwing hecklers out of his gig this week. Never found him funny and all very northern in his appeal.

Needs to lighten up does PK.

I make PK spot on. Some entitled nobs thinking that someone’s paid 100 quid to listen to them shout garlic bread. Guarantee everyone aside from the people kicked out would have been happy.

Tbh the problem is that the people working there didn’t do their job and it fell to a bloke trying to do his job on stage

Agree with this. Two people have been knobheads and kicked out.

Storm in a teacup.

Garlic bread...

Felt slightly sorry for the woman who got slung out and called "Lisa Riley" - apparently she was just trying to show support for him by standing up and singing "We love you Peter" - that said, having seen him get someone thrown out for shouting out, shouting out wasn't a terribly clever thing to do. Hopefully that's a lesson learned. m The Garlic Bread bloke on the other hand can GTF - what a tw*t.

I went to see him about 20+ years ago and it's still the funniest night I've ever been to - proper hurting from laughing for 2 hours. That said, he does seem to be a bit of a nob sometimes. Popbitch recounted a story - he's famously fond of a pound note - I quote it below:

One story goes that he told an arena he was playing that he wanted a pound for every car parked in their car park. The management replied that it was an unusual request and not something they'd ever done before; to which he trotted out his well-worn line that punters wouldn't be parking there if he wasn't on, so he deserves a share, etc.

Eventually they concede and the demand is folded into the contract. Come settlement time, the comedian is poring over the details with a fine-tooth comb and sees a figure of £8 a night listed under 'Additional Revenue'. Further investigation reveals this is the car parking money he angled for.

£8? For an entire arena? Are they having a laugh? No, they tell him. He asked for a pound for every car that parked in their car park, and the arena has eight spaces in the loading bay. The big car park he'd had his eye on? That was owned and operated by NCP, outside the venue's control...

All sounds very well planned and staged, basically it’s free and much needed publicity for his tour.

What a staggering coincidence that the only 2 comedians the BBC could find to share their opinions both have upcoming tours to promote.

I have to say that the show he did with the misheard lyrics was very funny.
