The big issue teams will have, if you scout him, where do you play him, he has played right back pretty much for the last three months and his best football has come but I can't see many teams playing him there
Seen him play for Ireland a couple of times in various midfield roles and that's where anyone will be looking to play him.
The only reason he's playing at RB is because he's playing as an inverted RB so getting into midfield on the ball.
Agreed he can obviously play midfield but most teams if you're paying two mil for a RB who is a cm, where are you going to play him? Unless your full backs invert too, then it's a natural fit
His best football by far has come at RB, he was good in midfield but in the last few months have gone up a level, for me personally honestly Donley is the better player in the AM position, i think teams will be a little cautious where they fit him in
Richie has found a great role for him but that doesn't mean another manager will, even more so at a higher level, I know we rate him but that doesn't mean his new club will. You stick him in a Championship team that already have good midfielders,he might be on the bench or not even that, look at El Miz now on the bench, never coming on but here was highly rated

" inverted right back" but plays in midfield. FFS!
The inverted right back is technically a midfielder in possession of the ball, out of possession they fall back into the right back role. Best way to describe his role here.
Ability wise he is one of the best players I have ever seen grace an Orient shirt, fantastic footballer and I hope we manage to keep him however unlikely that is
A right back who moves into the centre when his team has possession linking with the attack and creating an extra man for overload and possession based football.
Was it Pep that invented this ‘position ‘ , or another top coach ??
Johann Cruyff. Like all these things it’s been around for years but it’s now fashionable to actually understand what you are watching!
Bullshit. I think you oldies are talking about the old fashioned OVERLAP on the outside.
I played a half decent standard in the early - mid 90s and it was always 4-4-2. I can distinctly remember 3-5-2 becoming a thing - probably around 92 - and it frying our tiny minds.
Inverted full backs, rotations and overloads were never a thing.
TJ was playing the inverted full-back role at the start of last season. He weighed in with a couple of early goals because he wasn't being picked up by the opposition.

You forgot the false nine, the holding midfielder, goalkeeps who are forced to use their feet and dribble.
Football is now unrecognisable from the days when I was playing in teams that thrashed Cologne FC and the fiesty and angry Possil YM.

MBXI - scored what proved to be the winner against kieths BOFC in a 3-2 win. Halcyon days.
I could have sworn that match proved there were no winners on the day.
You could be right - I might have been talking about the time I was called up from the MBXI to play for LOFT against kieths bobfoc and scored the decisive goal in a 3-2 victory?
