Re: SOTIRIOU
A footballers life can be very short. Ruel was apparently given a 3 year contract by Rovers and was offered a lot more money than what the Os could offer him, so why would he not have moved on, he would have been very foolish not to do so !

Re: SOTIRIOU
He has an incredible agent I'll say that much. Really done a number on Bristol Rovers who must have a serious case of buyers' remorse when they realise they've got a 15 min impact player for first XI moneySid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 10:04 pmA footballers life can be very short. Re: SOTIRIOU
Never rated him , always lazy until the contract time came up. We are a better team without him. He will be at Barnet next year with those idiots at Rovers paying 50% of the wages. They must feel well done over signing him ,

To be honest , I didn't think I would be saying this at the beginning of the season but I have to agree .

He's not lazy . During his time with us he worked hard but it's fair to say that at this moment in time we're not missing him .

Re: SOTIRIOU
This is so weird. Orient fans pick weird targets.
A player who came through our youth team and made a lot of appearances for the first team. Definitely not a superstar but did alright. Worked hard every game and was our top scorer last season. Gone on to better things money wise. Good for him.

Re: SOTIRIOU
Ruel was a good player for us, gave his all, and went to BR because of higher wages there.
The fact, they are struggling, is neither here nor there, he's still earning more there, than he was here

I know Wellens liked him but he'd struggle to find a place for him in our current formation anyway.

Re: SOTIRIOU
He is a poor footballer but effective, works hard, steals the odd goal, if you have the space and wages, very handy player to have on the bench
He got a silly offer of higher wages, three year deal with an option of another, be an idiot not to take

Re: SOTIRIOU
When a player leaves Orient we do the same thing men do during a break up, she/he was a sh*t shag anyway, plenty better out there than her/him. Truth of the matter is Sotiriou was a very good player for us and his return of a goal every 4 games is brilliant for a player playing a lot of games either wide or a second striker as well as a fair few from the bench.
Wellens never hid the fact he saw him as an impact player and the lad got offered a much better contract than we could offer so fair fucks to him. I genuinely hope it gets better for him there and the chants of "whats the score to him twice this season left a sour taste in my mouth". Like a single one of those that chanted wouldn't quit their jobs tomorrow for more money elsewhere.

Re: SOTIRIOU
Not always, the likes of Bonne and Koroma get a warm reception. Sotiriou tried to take the club for mugs not once but multiple times with his contract demands, I'm glad RW called his bluff and let him go.Turk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 11:23 am When a player leaves Orient we do the same thing men do during a break up, she/he was a sh*t shag anyway, plenty better out there than her/him. It's so much better having players who can actually hold onto a ball and pass it instead of "bull in a china shop" taking on 4 players and rarely succeeding.

Re: SOTIRIOU
Pretty small club mentality to be dragging him like this after he's left and we've gone on to improve in his absence.
