I do think the Alabi headed chance in the first half optimised the type of thing we bought him for, sit him on the last defender and force a mistake or outmuscle the opponent. He scored a lot of his goals at Chester this way (and penalties) and in pre-season last year against Southend.

The fact that we have played him out of position the vast majority of times, expecting him to be some kind of support striker is more a failing of the club and scouts, because they must have seen the same thing happen at Tranmere.

Poor lad is getting the p*ss taken out of him in the Daily Mail now, that's what I mean about the club backing him publicly. He worked hard, his head didn't drop, he laid on a goal when he could have been greedy and looking to make amends.

OK I know this is over-egging it, but it hasn't stopped Ross doing that for other players. We all know that he probably doesn't have the ability to cut it at this level or even the one below, being low on confidence is only going to make that worse. Up until the next transfer window it seems certain that he will be playing part in matches at least as sub.

Over how many years? Let’s face it, he had one fluke season at Chester, but he’s not even good enough for the Conference proper. Hopefully Gorman and Dayton will join him on the train to Chelmsford soon enough, and our squad will be stronger for it.
Dayton ??? We've missed his creativity. When fit he's a big player for us

Alabi miss look easy but alabi was just about 2 second late to the ball plus the ball hit the post and then alabi went for it

He looks to be falling before reaching the ball, tripped some how or off balance, it is an odd one, then tried to keep the ball in play whilst being on the deck

I don't think the header from Harold was going in either.

He’s rarely fit. And he has never cut it in the EFL before, so I don’t know why he’s suddenly going to start now.

He had his ankle broken by a reckless tackle at Sutton. That was hardly his fault. I'd never heard of him until he signed but he has been a decent player for us.

Harrolds header looked like it was going wide, at very best may have shaved the outside of the far post. It all looks so easy to score when watching on YouTube.

It definitely wasn't after Alabi intervened.
